Paper jams right before it gets to fuser. I can open up front and pull the paper out and it has a little less than a wuarter of the image on the page.....pull out the paper and it jams again....then it printed fine and next time jammed again. It never even touches the fuser. It is a Kyocera Mita 4230. Thanks a lot!!

Re: Kyocera Mita 4230
It could be lots of things but for starters check to see if the other paper sources cause the same problem. try using the bypass one sheet at a time at first. second, there is a sensor shortly after or around the drum unit, if it doesn't activate it within it's specified time it will stop the machine, causing a jam.
thirdly is may be the transfer/ seperation issue, there also a couple of transport belts that may not be turning. check everything at let know if those things solve it.

Check all the paper movement from the tray, left or right cover, front cover, if so then remove jammed paper. Otherwise the paper sensor spring guide missing or fell off from its original position. Check carefully where the sensor locate. paper sensors detect all the paper movement in the machine during copying or printing, so locate the place in the machine which the paper usually jammed, see the screen of the machine, it will locate the place where the paper jammed mostly. Sensor not return to it original position that is why ( remove paper jam keeps blinking)
This can be a number of problems depending on where the paper jams. Check and clean the feed rollers if not feeding into the machine. Ensure that you are printing to the correct size paper and that the cassette is correctly adjusted. If jamming in the interior under the drum then you may have an obstruction that the paper is hitting. If it jams just as it gets to the fuser unit then the fuser drive gear may have failed.
If you are not seeing any paper there you most likely have a bad paper detect sensor. The paper detect sensor is what looks for the proper timing of the paper moving through the machine and indicates a jam when the paper stops.
if paper is stuck in the back... then you have to take the machine apart... its messy but its just how it is... as for two sided printing... I would call kyocera support... they could best advize you on that... and they are quite friendly...
Check to make sure that their is no paper that is jammed in the paper draw. Also open the main panel where you would change the toner and pull out the little draw underneath the toner, I believe it is marked A2. Make sure that there is no paper there as well. Another place that paper will sometimes hide is in the left panel by the duplex system. Sometimes a little piece of paper gets left behind and this can cause the system to think there is still paper jammed in the machine. If all else fails try restarting the system. If you are still experiencing a problem than I would recommend you call your servicing dealer.
