Question about IBM ThinkPad T43 Notebook

1 Answer

Follow-up thanks TampaNative. It's a good thought, but the thing is, it didn't used to be like that, so that's why I'm wondering what's up. I'm hoping there isn't something wrong with my network adapter. Is there some kind of diagnostic I could run to see if that was an issue? thanks again!

Some of the keys on my laptop cannot be use

the best thing to do is to use external USB keyboard, their are lots of keyboard which is very handy and affortable price to buy. Or just replace the whole keyboard on your laptop. To replace it better to send the unit to a technical person near on your place to prevent further damage on other parts. One thing also, once you replace a keyboard laptop you must also consider the highest cost rather than using an external usb keyboard. Just a thought hope it helps thanks.

I recently broke my laptop, at first i thought i fried something with static while cleaning it (it was overheating after apr 30 minutes of anything strenuous) but since there is no responce period i'm...

If your on/off switch is broken you cannot "force" a start. I'm thinking you have probably one of the following problems:
Bad motherboard (this because you mentioned a heat problem)
Bad CPU--same reason
Bad DC adapter on the motherboard, but probably not this if you have a good battery.

CRASHED DELL INSPIRON B130

As you cannot power up I cannot see it being an AVG problem although it seems strange that it happened after you installed it.

As you needed to download an anti virus prog because you thought you had some then we will presume you were on the internet unprotected. A big mistake!!!

If you have a virus/trojan stopping your system from starting then you need to download the following on another PC and burn to disc. You must also make sure you laptop is connected to the internet or follow the instructions on the website below.

If this does not work then it is a problem with your laptop.

Here's the link full instructions and download here (at the bottom of the instructions.)

Need to replace screen and casing on compaq presario 1200 - instructions?

Here is the closest thing I could find to actual disassembly instructions. There is one document for LCD hinges on the 1200 I think ...that might get you pointed in the right direction.

Please be aware that my recommendations are to have a professional attempt this. The wrong screw or the wrong tool put into the wrong place will mess up a lot more thank your LCD.

Also be aware that I do not personally endores or recommend following these instructions ...I just found them for you - do what you want with the information :)

hope this helps - please remember to rate :)

Please help

Hi,

Based on your description, it would seem that Windows is looking for a program that is no longer there and either halts/freezes or does some other thing out of the ordinary.

Initially, suggestion/procedures are:
1. Boot in "Safe Mode", that is press F8 before Windows start to boot and arrow up to select, hit enter;
2. It may take some time but soon as Windows has booted in Safe Mode, go to "Start", click on "Run", in the next small windows, type "msconfig" less the quotes, hit enter;
3. In the msconfig window, un-check everything you feel would not be needed. They maybe updates and autochecks. Normally, what is only important is your anti-virus. Or you can try unchecking everything, restart Windows and see what programs does not run or if any glitch(es). Thereafter, you can F8 again an check to restore the missing programs.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
