You wont have any probs to install xp but before u go ahead take note of drivers u may need because you will need to install certain drivers after installation.
if you have wireless all you really need at hand is your wireless drivers so as once xp installed install wireless then get online to install any other drivers you may need.

SOURCE: downgrad from vista 2 xp
it's being quite a long time since i solved my problem, so don't remember the details.
but I remember to have downloaded the drivers from Toshiba's site, filtering with the exact notebook model and XP drivers.
hope you get lucky

SOURCE: downgrade vista to XP
you have to buy an xp windows cd regardless because it's the program you want to install. But unless you are very good with computers I do not recommend the downgrade to xp.I am writing this on a similar laptop and I bought it cheap and it works great. Why you want to downgrade may I ask?

Have you tried the "compatability" mode built into Vista. Also go to Microsfts site and search for answers as they now have better number of "fixes" to issues similar to yours.
