Yep!
depending on the setting of your machine.
if your machine is set to us standard, there you will be able to see ledger size paper selection
but if your machine is set to jp/eu (default) you can only copy with a3 size as the biggest size

that's it
:)

Why does our Kyocera Taskalfa 181 keep displaying a "Print mode error" message?

It is usually because you have the machine set up as A4 and the your documents or printer driver set to 81/2 X11(American letter size) size paper ,to override this ,got to the menu system button in the top left of the operation panel ,scroll down to printer setting in one of those menues you'll find A4/letter override turn it on and you'll get rid of the problem .

Copies rotated 90 degrees from original

Hello pt,
I am 95% sure I know what's up. The paper trays of your copier are easily changed to hold many paper sizes(except the first tray which has the limitation of not beeing able to hold 11x17 {ledger}). Each paper tray has a blue dial at the front right corner of the tray which you can observe if you press the large gray button on the front of the tray you would use to add paper. The tray/cassette will pop out when you press the button. If the paper size on the dial does not match the actual paper size in the tray. If this happens the copier will either jam or turn the image 180 *. This is a common problem for letter (81/2 x 11) as there are 2 settings for that size paper. You could load it either short edge feed (landsape) or long edge feed (portrait). I feel confident that someone has loaded the letter paper in the paper tray one way, but the blue dial at the front right corner of the tray is dialed to tell the copier that the paper is loaded defferently or a different size. When there is a mismatch between what the dial says (what the copier reads and acts on) and the actual oreintation of the paper you will get this problem. There are 2 settings for letter size, and since you have a digital copier, the copier will scan the image, look at the paper sources, and turn the image to try to fit the image to the size it "believes" is in the tray. Just make sure the paper in the tray is truly oriented to match what you have the dial size set to. You will need to look closely (but your eyes are probably better than mine) and make sure you have that you have set the correct 8 1/2 x 11 size. This will fix your problem. Please let "FIXYA " know I helped you. Have agood weekend!!!!!!!!! :-) SPINAL

I'm trying to scan a ledger size document and it will only scan up to a maximum letter size? I've do I change the settings to scan larger documents?

Problem solved. I was doing the scan using the buttons on the copier/scanner, but you cannot set the scan size this way. You have to use the ScanSoft Paperport program on the computer.

I HAVE LASERJET 4 PLUS. WHEN I GIVE JOB FOR PRINTING THE PRINTER DISPLAYS A MESSAGE AS PC LOAD LEGAL. PLS HELP ME IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM

The document you're trying to print is formatted for legal size paper, and the tray contains only letter size. if it's a legal size, put legal paper into the MP tray, or override the setting and manually select "letter size" in the printer dialog box.

After the riso makes a master it cuts off the top of when printed

Is this machine interfaced with the computer? if it is.. then it's nothing to do with the machine... Either it's the machine settings.. So you have selected letter size on the machine and ledger on the computer.. Something like this. The machine is probably fine..

Paper error

I hope that this can help someone else as it has taken me all day to fix this issue on a C6180 all-in-one machine. I will ignore the normal solutions to a "paper mismatch" error such as your settings not matching your printing media. Obviously, check these first:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com

If your problem is not solved with the above steps, you have an issue with your "spot sensor" and it needs to be calibrated. Instructions:

1. Press * and # at the same time, and then release both keys.
The display reads "Enter Special Key Combo".
2. Press 3, 2, and then 9, releasing each key before pressing the next.
The display window should read "Service: R0622M" with a revision number.
3. Press the right arrow button once.
The display should read "System Configuration".
4. Press Enter or OK.
5. You will be prompted to enter serial number. Do not enter any information
on the unit.
Press the right arrow button until "media sense calibration" appears in the
display.
6. Load Paper into the unit and then press Enter or OK.
7. Media Sense Calibration process will take place.

It is one of the rare times that HP chat has fixed my printer at no cost and instantly. Here is a full transcript describing my issue and the HP chat solution:
