Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a Crosley CT17A2, 16.8 cufu fridge with top freezer. I do not have any water hooked to the fridge. However, quite frequently water runs from the top back surface of the fridge and pools up under one of the produce storage bins, and often runs onto the floor. Suggestions? Thanks, Casey

Therer should be a tube leading from the interior drain hole into a catch basin under the unit where it is evaporated using heat generated y the condenser unit. check to see if it has dislodged.

Water leak

First check the seal is sealing tight. To do this use a piece of paper and close the door it should have resistance when pulling the paper out. If all is good your drain is clogged up. To clean this remove the back panel at the bottom you will see a hole about a 1/2' in diameter clean this out with warm water and a turkey baster or a piece of wire if necessary. Be careful not to puncture the tube. The drain tube runs all the way to the bottom to a drain pan. After it is clear run a baking soda water mix 50-50 down the drain to prevent future clogs. Here is a link to accesssing the drain.

Fridge comes on frequently.

The best thing to do is pull it away from the wall. Get the back bottom cover off (probably, card board). Get a good vacuum and clean the condenser coil of any dust....Getting the condenser coil as clean as possible, then replacing the fan motor would be your best option to get the fridge to run quieter and less frequent.

Crosley side by side. freezer/refrigerator. Has ice maker/water. Question is why is the fridge side freezing things. Its on lowest setting? I tried cleaning out the coils that were under the fridge.

there is a damper control on the top left of the fridge compartment that may be stuck in the open positin open the fridge door and turn off the unit completely you should be able to here the damper door close. if you do not it may need to be replaced, and or your thermostat for the fridge needs to be replaced.
