Plug ipod in usb port and monitor says "device not supported"

This may mean that charging is not supported, the voltage/current may not be correct. Check the car system to see what ipods are supported - iphone uses more current than the ipod generally. Can you try the line in via headphone jack?

it sounds like the USB connector on the face place of the radio has a cracked solder joint. i suggest taking it to a person that know how to solder small objects. your Kenwood has a one year manufacturer warranty it could be some thing to check in to.

Cant get jvc car stereo to work a sony cd changer

Does your sony cd changer have a separate controller and rf modulator interface? It's a wire from the cd changer with a little box close to the end and an antenna plug at the tip? If you do just plug it into the back of your radio where the antenna goes in, then plug the car antenna jack into the other side of the little box and turn your radio to the marked setting on the box. IF NOT , you can not interface the din plug from a sony into a jvc radio because the sony radio that has a md controller built in will control all of the functions of the matching cd change.
I hope this helps...

It may be the format of your walkman is not compatible with your head unit. try turning your walkman off when you connect it, some units will only read when it has uninterrupted access to your walkman's memory
good luck

On a jvc kd-g632 cd player which wire port is for a remote lead for fitting an amp

The turn on voltage that the amp needs comes from the radio wiring harness and it is the blue wire that is in between the red and the white wires on most JVC radios.

Hope this helps and a rating of "FixYa!" would be appreciated for this free information.

Let me know if you need any more help.

The USB function on my JVC KD-AR880 won't engage. It "File Search" forever. I'm using an 8gig USB Flash Drive (Corsair), and it has approx. 2.3gigs of music on it. All file types are suported...

How long have you left it in the head unit while it says "File Check"? With 2.3GB, it may take a while to finish it's check.

Have you tried doing a disc scan of the flash drive with your computer? If there are file system issues on the drive, that could make the head unit unhappy.

According to the manual, file names can have up to 25 characters, but ID tags can be up to 128. It doesn't say what happens if you go beyond those limits. Check your folder/file name lengths.

If you're using a USB extension cord, try it without.
