Question about Palm Treo 650 Handheld
Have you tried using another battery in the unit?
Does it do the same thing when plugged into an AC power supply?
These phones can be fickle if they've been dropped a few times and contacts are bent or jostled. Sometimes if the housing is twisted physically or stresses are put on the housing it pinches contacts to perform certain actions (I have one that likes to hotsync if the case is twisted).
Check with using the AC pack. If the problem persists, it's the phone. If not, then it's the battery or it's contacts. Try a new battery.
