Question about Palm Treo 650 Handheld

1 Answer

Battery? I recently bought a used 650 and the whole thing keeps turning off. I have to remove/replace the battery to start it up again. Is this a battery problem or something more serious? Luckily I can return it if I choose to. Thanks

I am having the same exact problem.....its like the phone freezes up. I have contacted the Palm Support team....and after a reset the phone worked fine for a few days and now it has started again. This time a normal warm reset would not do the trick and I had to complete a hard reset. I do not think I should have to reset the phone every few days. And I have not installed any new 3rd party software on the is at factory settings. I would appreciate all comments

Have you tried using another battery in the unit?

Does it do the same thing when plugged into an AC power supply?

These phones can be fickle if they've been dropped a few times and contacts are bent or jostled. Sometimes if the housing is twisted physically or stresses are put on the housing it pinches contacts to perform certain actions (I have one that likes to hotsync if the case is twisted).

Check with using the AC pack. If the problem persists, it's the phone. If not, then it's the battery or it's contacts. Try a new battery.

My 2000 Honda Valkyrie won't start. Replaced the battery, replaced the starter button assembly (whole right side switch assembly) with a new part directly from Honda. When I turn the key everything turns...

First check battery connections...
then check Ignition fuse
then check your neutral, sidestand up....kill switch to RUN...also try using clutch in case the neutral switch is not grounding the starter circuit properly.

You can do a soft reset by pressing the small indented button on the back with your stylus,: or you can do a hard reset by removing the battery and pressing the same button on the rear with your stylus. I would try the soft reset first, as the hard reset wipes all your data.
