I have the same problem. My player worked for 1.5 years and now won't hold a charge. When I plug it in the red light on the front won't even come on. I purchased a used one on Ebay to replace it and the Ebay one has the exact same problem!

I bought the DVD player about 2 months ago and it was working very well. Now it does not charge up although it runs for about 2 minutes each time before dying out.

Make sure the battery is installed in the correct direction, turn off the player, plug in the AC pack and look for the red charge light to illuminate on the front lip of the player. Give it a few hours to charge.

Only plays pluged into wall, maybe i am charging my battery wrong.

you probably have not ever stressed your have only two options.....pull the battery out, place it in a ziploc baggy and put it in the freezer for 4-5hrs, then attach it to your laptop overnight....then pull the plug and see if the battery holds.....if not, give it one more try, baggy, freezer, 4-5hrs and charge overnight.....if you get nothing, then it's time to but a new battery. and for the need to use your battery at least once a month without it being plugged in and use it til there is about 25% left, then plug it back in, til next month and repeat.

Even with AC adapter plugged in player seems to only run off the battery? Why does the battery need to be fully charged if I have the adapter plugged in?

Because the power supply, is just a "Trickle Charger" for the battery, and cannot, deliver enough current to run, the entire thing, alone, only from the wall unit. If however a higher current adapter could be used, no doubt you could use it just on that. You would need a switchmode type supply, something that has same plug, polarity, plug can be "Grafted" on to a new supply, this supply needs to provide the same Voltage as written on the PSU, but with a higher Current, Amps, draw rating, say 3 - 4 Amps. Then that would operate the unit alone. Without the battery. You are meant to use two batteries, one charge and one in use, and swap them out when needed to.

Lost the AC Adapter to plug in my Insignia I-PD720 DVD Player

Our parts supplier lists the AC adapter as unavailable, but an alternative may be available. I would recommend calling them at 1-888-237-8289 or carrying the unit in to the place of purchase or an electronic parts store to pursue an alternative.

Insignia PD10135 Portable DVD Player Battery won't work

I have the same unit, and had the same problem numerous times. I finally removed the battery and sprayed CRC electronic cleaner over the battery terminals as well as the units terminals. Put the battery back in hooked up the charger and it went green. It is playing as I write this.

Battery charge

the battery is dead. that happened to me and i had 3 choices: 1)buy a new dvd player 2)buy a new recharable battery or 3)keep the portable plugged to the wall while i watch movies. i chose number 3 because i usually just use it at places plugs are available. but yeah, the battery is dead.
