What happens with my Sansa e270 (6 gb) is when i connect it to my PC the connections seems to be patchy and it will not download or delete songs, when i unconnect it, it is as if i have not done anything. I can only download songs at small increments, and many times the connection is not working. The wires seem to be fine, and the USB ports work, and the cable seems ok. This is very annoying.
thanks for helping!

Mp3 player malfunction

1. Try updating the drivers-
- Right click "My Computer", choose properties
- Click the hardware tab and choose Device Manager
- See if you find the name of the device there - if yes, Right click on it and choose "Update Driver"

2. Try changing the mode to MTP

3. If nothing works, unplug the USB cable, Lock the device, Push the round button in the middile of the Sansa player, continue holding it and plug in the USB cable.
4. One more option you could try -
  • turn off your mp3
  • press the hold(lock)button down to activate it.
  • press the center button and keep it pressed ..
  • connect the USB cable supplied with the device always pressing the center button,
  • connect the other end of the cable to a USB jack on your PC.
  • From there it should work properly.

My sansa e250 keeps connecting and disconnecting from the computer. every time i plug it into the computer, it keeps saying that it's connected and disconnected to the computer. this switches repeatidly...

If it is flashing constantly, go into Start --> Control Panel --> Printers/Other Hardware --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager --> and uninstall either the Sansa or the MTP device. Disconnect the Sansa from the computer, and reinstall the software that came with the mp3 player.

Charger doecnt work properly

On your computer, go to Start --> Control Panel --> Printers and Other Hardware --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager --> and uninstall the item marked MTP device. It will be a bit tricky b/c the Sansa will cut in and out during this process.

Uninstall all Sansa software, and reinstall the clean version from Sandisk's website.

Unableto connect to PC

You have to have Windows Media Player version 10 or higher, if you do not then the device will not install correctly.

If this does not apply, then check the Device Manager for errors while the device is connected. If you see any RED or YELLOW errors listed, right click on them and select un-install.

Disconnect the device and re-connect it to install the drivers.

If that doesnt work, add to the message and we can go from there.

Best of Luck.

Computer will not recognize

Did you check in Device Manager to see if the device has any errors listed? With the device connected Right Click on Computer>Properties>Hardware Tab>Device Manager button. Check for any red or yellow errors on the Sansa device. If there are errors, right click on it and select uninstall. Disconnect the device and then reconnect it to your computer. If thats not it, do you have Administrator Rights on the PC? If not you will need to switch to Administrator account and follow the steps at the top. You can add to this question for more assistance. Best of Luck.
