Something may be wrong internally with the PS3 and you may have to take it back. If its under warranty it should be covered since this happened to my cousin a long time ago.

I would delete the DLC and re-download it. From there I would also suggest actually cleaning your disc as well just in case. I don't know if this game is one of the ones doing this, but some companies have started putting some of the DLC actually on the disc and what you are purchasing just unlocks that content. So it really could just be a smudge or scratch on the disc preventing you from playing.
I finished playing this game before and I can not remember anymore where is that Blue Jewel Ant is in Resident Evil game. Anyway, I am Resident Evil fanative and I like this game so much.
All I can give is a clue on how to find this object you are looking for in this games. Go to websearch and type this "walkthrough for Resident Evil code Veronica X". It will display all the walkthough guide on playing this games. Read it or print it for your guide on playing Resident Evil code Veronica X.
I am sure it will help you a lot. Good luck and enjoy the games.
"Find C:\Users\"Username"\Documents\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL 5\config.ini (for Vista / 7) or ñ:\My Documents\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL 5\config.ini (for XP) and change Stereo=OFF to Stereo=ON. This will add laser, but default crosshair will still be there, like it or not"
Found this on another forum, if anyone wants to change it.
With most mass production games, there is always a chance you will have a defective game. I would take it back to the store, explain the problem, and exchange it for a new one.
