Question about Canon NP 6551 Black and White Copier

1 Answer

Canon 6025 This machine is old but still working, I have a few things.... First, it will not pull paper from the letter tray I have to put it in the bypass tray. Also the copies come out with lots of streaks on the top and bottom of the page at first it was almost covering the whole page but I dumbed out the waste toner and now it's better but still not great. I cleaned every part I could get too. But I noticed where the orange and black roller is on top of it is that white fabric and that has a lot of black streaks on it. So what part do I need to replace? What is it called? The drum is clean...

Okay, for starters, it sounds like your machine has been properly service in along time. typically on this machine every 6-12 months. anyway turn off and unplug the machine. it will need the optics cleaned for starters( you must remove the guide plates and then remove the glass and be very careful but slide the scanner out and clean the 3 mirrors with glass cleaner and a very soft cloth. then reassemble. slide out the transfer unit and inspect but do not touch the drum, the machine should have come with a corona wire cleaner, clean them, very careful not to break them. reinstall. the cleaning web you are refering to is okay for one roller to be dirty but there are two, one that is new felt and the other is where the used or dirty felt is. then there are the orange and black rollers which should stay clean without any real marks if your cleaning web is working properly. then as far as all the rollers except the drum(never touch, ever.) you can use rubbing alcohol moistened cloth to wipe and turn, wipe and turn. your paper pick up tires are propably very dirty causing your machine to misfeed. so clean them all. they are right over where the paper drawer sits. Good Luck, Don't break anything. if you very careful you will be able to fix this machine.

Thank You,

Mikey

Canon Inkjet, Not Printing?

Hi Rosa,
There was a paper jam and you cleared the jam, however you missed out to do one other thing. Cleaning the Rollers.

If the Paper Feed Roller is dirty or paper powder is attached to it, paper may not be fed properly.
In this case, clean the Paper Feed Roller. Cleaning will wear out the Paper Feed Roller, so perform this only when necessary.

You need to prepare: three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

1.Make sure that the power is turned on, and remove any paper from the Rear Tray.

2.Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.

3.Clean the Paper Feed Roller without paper.

(1) Press the g0081065_tcm14-774017.jpg (Maintenance) button repeatedly until b appears.

g0081066_tcm14-774018.png
(2) Press the Black or Color button.
The Paper Feed Roller will rotate as it is cleaned.

4.Clean the Paper Feed Roller with paper.
(1) Make sure that the Paper Feed Roller has stopped rotating, and load three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.
(2) Make sure that b appears on the LED, then press the Black or Color button.
The machine starts cleaning. The cleaning will be completed after the paper is ejected.

This should fix the issue

Please check that there isn't any paper jam behind the tray in the machine, this will block the connection from the tray to machine and prevent the paper lift mechanism from raising up into proper position. Hope this helps.

Digital replacement for Canon NP 6025

"No" is the answer to all of those questions, and even if it were "yes", purchasing a good quality refurbished digital machine from a reputable supplier, would still be a far cheaper option than all of that.
Not in or around Toronto, are you?

Print from both trays

Not sure with a that Model, but on HP lasers, you just tell the printer that the trays both have the same paper in - i.e. Plain Letter. When one runs out, the other takes over.
If the printer thinks one tray is Plain and one is i.e. Bond paper, it won't switch trays even if the same physical paper is in there.
Go through the control panel on the front of the printer, or if it doesn't have one, you'll need to use the web interface to set this up.

Printer will not print: Canon imageCLASS D320

The paper size selected in the menu system must match the paper size in the rec. (recording) paper tray. If you have 'letter' size paper in the tray and the menu system is set for 'A4' paper you will get this message. Either put A4 size paper in the tray, or change the paper size in the menu system to 'letter'.

I have a NP 6025 that is jamming from the letter tray top not multi purpose tray. I cleaned the rollers that did not help. its making a grinding noise (best way to describe it) The paper gets jammed at various stages in the input unit I can open the right door and see the paper. Wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to fix this problem....

Paper tray selection

Go to Paper Menu > Paper Size > Tray 1 - note what the Auto setting states (Letter, A4, Legal, etc.) Pull the tray out to set what it is configured for. Then reinsert it & pull it out a few times, noting what the display show the Auto size show. It should match the tray's settings.

If the Display indicates otherwise, it means one of two things:

1) The "auto size sensing" board on the left may be defective. The left side of the tray has a matrix of 3 plastic tabs that stick out in certain order depending on the tray setting. If this board fails, it may show Executive or A4 when the tray is set for letter.

2) The tray may be in-between two settings. Try to readjust the tray length setting between sizes. (You will notice the plastic tabs will change order.) The last time you loaded paper it may have pushed it just enough so that it is no longer seen as letter by the auto sensing board.

I hope this helps...

NP 6030 paper jam

It may be this simple:

1- as silly as it may seem, are you sure the size  is correct, if it is a letter size paper and it says legal, it will jam. open the paper tray and make sure the guides are snug againgst the paper,

does it say letter (or legal) for the tray you are going to use, if they do not correspond then look behind the tray inside the machine, is there a paper jammed in the back?

Or not so easy

2-You are having a sensor problem, take a look at the duplex tray,

pull it out and look at the sensors ( black little levers that stick out) are there any pieces of paper, can you move them and they spring back into place?
