Took my lg LP XG2 Multimedia projector for repairs. LG authorised agents advise that motherboard cannot be repaired. LG cannot supply motherboard and power supply for this projector. Do I have to write off an expensive projector that is only 5 years old or can anyone porvide alternative spares?

Re: Spares not available
FOr most service centers, the only available parts are the modules themselves. There are very few of us left that actually perform component level repairs. In the case of this type of unit, there are no component level parts available as the only "parts" supplied by LG are modules. Dep[ending upon the servicer's experience and the nature of the problem, it is possible that the module could be repaired. This would not be an "authorized" repair, but it is possible. What is the nature of the problem that warrants the requirement of the motherboard?

Make sure that your secondary display is enabled on your laptop. If you have an ATI gpu, use the catalyst control center to detect the new display. Most laptops have a function button to enable the second display. It looks like two boxes with a slash between them. On my laptop it is the F5 key. You will have to hold the Fn button and press the key, it might take a little while to change over. Don't panic if you can't see the screen on the laptop, there are three modes: Laptop only, external only, and both. Press the key again to move to the next mode.
