does not indicate a name, just says to connect an indoor antenna to view television channels correctly

it says the tuner in this tv receives tv signals from an antenna. the digital tv can receive standard (sdtv) and high definition (hdtv) over the air broadcasts.

next it reads the tuner in the tv receives NTST tv signals, analog cable signals or the rf output from satellite receiver, vcr or cable box.

This one should work on your system.

    Here is a different option.

Here is a retailer in UK

Both antenna work on digital tv, they should be ok on your portable system.

Any indoor antenna (aerial ) should do, you will have a better signal with a digital amplified antenna, similar to the ones a posted above.

Here is a list of indoor antennas, best ones are the digital models at the end of the list.

If you tell me in which country you do live I can find models and distributor in your area.

    Regards

How to get analog channels on my Toshiba?

The problem is probably that your antenna can't pick up any of the remaining analog stations in your area. Only low-power stations are still broadcasting an analog signal. If you are using an indoor antenna, you might the signal with an outside antenna with an amplifier. (Check a site like tvfool.com to get the direction to any nearby analog station and make sure that your antenna is oriented correctly. This site or antennaweb.org will also help you orient your antenna for the digital stations in your area.)

You need a set-top digital tuner or a converter box to translate the OTA digital signals (ATSC) and translate them to the analog NTSC format. Low end converter models with only SD output are harder to find but still available. However, there are some converter boxes that have HD output as well. This one, http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?mc=03&p=3500STB&d=iView-HD-DVR-ReceiverConverter-Box-for-TV-Antenna-QAM-(3500STB)&c=Digital%20Converter%20Boxes&sku= , lets you attach an external drive (USB flash drive or hard drive) . It connects via component video or HDMI. (We've had good luck with our model with a portable (2.5") external hard drive. It replaces the SD converter box and DVD recorder.)

I hope this helps.

(In my area, there is only one low-power station still broadcasting. Its transmitter is nearly 40 miles and can only be picked up with the external antenna and amplifier. If the weather is bad, we will lose that signal. Beware: an amplifier can become damaged and block the signal. The usual check for this removing the amplifier and attaching the antenna directly to the TV. For low-power stations, this test doesn't often help.)

I have a RCA D52W20 rear projection HDTV. This TV was purchased in2005. I cancelled my cable and I just hooked up a digital antenna but the TV isn't finding any channels. What do I need to do? I was...

HDTV indicates the number of lines that are shown by the TV. (HD means that at least 720 lines can be displayed in a given picture.) To receive OTA signals, you need an ATSC tuner (digital) of sufficient power (with a clear path to the transmitter) these days. The RCA D52W20 was released in 2002 and only has an NTSC (analog tuner). You will need a digital-to-analog converter to receive OTA TV (unless any low power analog stations remain in your area).

Please note that the basic digital-to-analog converters that were available with the government coupon back in 2009 were SD (480i lines of pixels used) units. HD d-t-a converters exist but are more expensive.

I hope this helps.

(the phrase "digital antenna" is meaningless; check with tvfool.com or antennaweb.org for the direction of local transmitters. TVfool.com will give more information on the type of antenna (indoor, outdoor, amplifier) that you will need to receive channels in your area. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna but is very conservative in the stations that it will indicate that you can receive. Antennas are given a color rating based on how far away the transmitter can be to get a watchable signal. Since digital signals are either enough for the tuner to interpret or you get a "no signal" message, you often need a stronger signal than was needed to receive a watchable analog channel.)

I'm wanting to drop my satellite service. Will my projection tv pick up stations with a digital antenna?

Sorry but I've never heard of a DIGITAL ANTENNA, ALL antennas are ANALOG NOT DIGITAL, and yes you will be able to tune in some TV stations if you live close enough of TV stations that still transmit ANALOG signals, with a GOOD VHF/UHF antenna you can have good reception and viable TV time... (best of all it's FREE)

Good Luck!

What digital antenna does it need to recieve stations. there is no coax connector on the tv

You will need to get an HDTV converter box. You can purchase these at various location (Radio Shack, Best Buy, Wal-mart). As for the antenna, your selection should be based on the radial distance between your house and the TV station towers (line of sight distance from you to the tower). Antennas will have mileage information on the packaging for reference. Select an antenna which will meet your needs. There are a few good sites which offer web application to calculate your needs. Check out antennaweb.org if you like. Hope this helps.

Do I need a TV digital to analog converter box to use my outdoor antenna to pick up local stations?

Hi

Possibly but that depends on your antenna. What you will need to do first is change your TV's input selection from cable to ant. Should be in your menu.

Digital to analog converter box to tv/vcr combo

You will need a splitter and an rf modulator to do timed recording of programs. The instructions are on the dtv answers website, option # 2, record and watch a different channel. The recording is for the analog stations 1-24. You cannot record the higher stations. The items I purchased were a 3 way splitter $7 at local hardware store, an rf modulator $25 at Radio Shack. The other option was to get a cable box for the tv and record off of that at $6.95 a month or a DVR for $8.99 per month, all from comcast. The price that I paid for the items I needed would be repaid in 3 months if I were to go the comcast route. The conversion is nothing more than a money making scheme for them.
