HEARTBROKEN AND BEWILDERED - Erased mini-dvd-r - Please Advise! My son, running for council president of his school, spent 3 days creating dvd on mini DVD-R on Canon DC-100 camcorder. We watched several of the 60 clips while in camcorder (there was still several minutes of blank space) and we hit "finalize" and "yes" and it said it would take 3 1/2 minutes but after 30 seconds it returned to finalize screen again - we waited, I think we MAYBE even clicked on finalize again to make sure (but not positive) - assumed it was done and took out, but when placed into vista computer's drive, windows read "blank disc" - we tried to refinalize or check in camcorder but at first it said "task in progress" and churned and churned my mini-dvd and eventually it says 0/0 and shows no scenes anymore nor will it let me tape new ones (I tried) or finalize again. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? WE DID EVERYTHING RIGHT THAT WE KNOW. YES, YES, YES, CAMCORDER WAS PLUGGED INTO THE WALL WITH ITS AC ADAPTER at the time as is required! Can anyone tell me what may have occurred? Can anyone help get data back or does 0/0 indicate it's been completely erased? MOREOVER, HOW CAN A DVD-R DISK ERASE WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FULLY NON-ERASABLE??!! Even if my data is forever lost, I need to know WHY this happened so I can avoid it in the future.
