  • Hi, click on the "Start Button," in the (right pane) Control Panel, next in the category listings, select Hardware and Sound, open, and click on the "Manage Sound Devices." The Sound window will open; click on the "Playback" button, there should be a Speakers Icon, click on it, look below to find the "Properties button, click to open the next window. In the next window there will be (4) four buttons "General, Level... First click on the "General" button, in the top of the window there will be a "Driver" button, click on that button to open. Select to "Update Driver," just click on it, the Drivers will be updated for you. Next you ca go back and press the other areas, Speaker Level etc... Note: "Remember to click on the "Apply and OK buttons afterward to make sure the changes take effect. "Restart the computer to finalize the changes." sounds like the Audio patch cord, i had around 5 of them that do that ...sometimes i hear the music thru one speaker, cracking noise sometimes it works when the wire is twisted, but i would try a new patch cord first.....my patch cord worked fine on some stereo units others break up

Bluetooth device stopped hp 550

have you tried re-installing the driver? was it working before, has something made it stop? otherwise you might need to replace the bluetooth unit. A external USB one mmay be cheaper.

Sound is not working on my hp laptop

I had the same problem; my laptop's speakers suddenly stopped working but I could still use the headphones and sound was fine.

I played around a while and searched the net; and I got them to work:

Open Control Panel- Sound, Speech, Audio Devices-------->
1) Audio Tab
2) Under 'Sound Playback' hit Advanced
3) At the bottom where it has Speaker Setup change it to "Laptop Stereo Speakers" (mine was initially on "Desktop Stereo Speakers" for some odd reason)

Problem solved, Thank God (Alhamdulilah)!

Hope it works out for you :)
