My screen is black on my Fujifilm Finepix F700 and the camera is turned on. The serial number is not listed. Any ideas?

Yes, my FinePix A303 also has a black screen when turned on. I've checked everything in the manual and no solution is provided. Don't think my serial number is listed in the advisory.

My camera turns off with the lens half way in, and when i try to turn it on it makes a beeping sound and the red light flashes . the screen stays blank/black, whats the problem how can i fix it??????

Hi, it could be that the lens got some dust or even sand particles between the lens covers. You might need to take it in to your local camera repair shop for a more detailed answer, but I had the same issue with my lens cover that only closed half.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes my camera all of a sudden will only allow me to take one pic at a time in the sense i have to turn off cam to take another one . the screen says AF and when its like ...

AF means that the camera is Auto focusing.
If the image isn't sharp the camera will not let you take the photo right away.
I suggest that you use another SCN when this happens.

I have M1033 - when the shutter button is pressed half way down it wont focus and shows a red AF on screen. The pics are blurred. Batteries have been changed and lens cleaned.Help please

The red AF is autofocus. If it is red it isn't focused. You will have to hold the button until the red light turns green, then release the button.

W1 metering

Hi Richard I'm sure that after playing with the camera for a while you'll start having your own preferences but as a start.......... I use Centre AF most of the time so that I know where I am focusing. Multipoint AF for groups of people who are all at practically the same dist. from where I stand The opposite for metering I found that centre metering gets fooled by say the colour of the shirt that's in the middle. If it's black the camera will assume that the whole situation is dark, so multi-pattern is my usual unless of course you are very keen on a central subject and want it to be perfect diregarding the rest of the background My usual Iso is 100 outdoor and in normal indoor situations sometimes I go to 200 if I need a faster shutter speed indoors ... I used 400 once and got terrible noise but again I was still learning my settings and so I might try to give it a second chance. Auto works fairly well for iso 5 M is my prefered shooting , One can crop and work on the pic later , you know you can reduce the size to 3.2 M even in the camera if you want to, so unless you are very tight on memory space why take a less resolution pic ? If you like the pic later there's no way of making it look like 5M again By the way dont forget the white ballance (WB) it's very important in the overall quality of the colours and although Auto is not bad .. indoors the manual setting is better IMO You are right about the P and M modes but usually you'll play with M for a while then you'll start to depend on P more. Actually P mode is better than Auto and suitable for most situations I hope this helps a bit

Auto focus mode

One Shot AF will focus on something and stop the AF process. One Shot AF will not fire the shutter until the lens is in focus with something. This AF mode is available in some PIC modes, like Macro mode, I think. AI Servo AF will not lock the focus, and if the subject or the camera moves, the camera will continue to seek a sharp focus. Servo AF will allow the shutter to fire whether in focus on not. This is mode only available in the Sports PIC mode. AI Focus starts out in One Shot AF, but if it detects subject movement it switches to AI Servo. It does not switch back to One Shot unless you release the shutter button and start over. This mode is available in P, Tv, Av, M and probably some PIC modes. The DRebel defaults to the AI Focus in most modes but switches very easily into Servo. Much easier than any other EOS camera I've used. In fact, too easily for most people. For example if the camera locks focus and you them move the focus manually (only on lenses with FTM), or sometimes if you zoom, or even pan the camera; all of these can force the camera to switch to Servo when you don't really want it to. The Wasia (Russian) firmware hack can force the camera to stay in One Shot, but it can't force the camera to start out in Servo.
