So two years ago my dad accidentally spilt some coke on the fax machine. We opened it up and cleaned it and it works EXCEPT the phone part of the fax machine. What is the problem? Or what could it be?

Try removing the phone's battery, then wash it out with water. Then put phone in a bag of white rice for a week. Then replace the battery.

Cell Phone was washed in the washing machine

You are far better off buying a new phone. Put the old one on Craigs list - looking for a repair person - for this problem and or say you want to sell it out right and take that as a down payment.

I put my lg cookie in the washing machine, and i'm wondering if you have any tips on what to do? Will it work again?

Originally I posted this in the droid forum but here you go:

Take everything out, the battery, memory card, etc and do NOT TURN IT BACK ON!!!!! get a big ziplock baggie, put lots of rice in it and submerge the phone in it as well as the battery. Wait 5 days. Then when that time is up, wait one more day. I mean it. This will save the phone. If you pull it out sooner, you could fry your droid. I know you don't want that to happen at all as those are way too expensive. Guard your baby with your life; do NOT turn it on until at LEAST 5 days have passed. Do you really need to see that email/txt so badly that you'll risk frying your phone? ;)

wait the 5 days and one more if you can. The rice trick works amazingly.

Remove the battery cover, battery, and back cover casing as soon as possible, then put the phone in a small holes bag(the type you put in the washing machine that holds the tablets), then put phone in a jar of uncooked rice, ensuring phone is submerged in the rice, and leave for 48 hours. the rice will extract all moisture from the handset.

Welcome to the forums btw !

As to the charging point, these can be replaced quite easiy, otherwise Service point can do it. __________________

you will never get it to work again, sorry, a chemical reaction happens imeadiately upon water contact, this causes catastrophic damage and is not recoverable.

Washing machine

It may be bad forever but try taking off the battery and letting all pieces swim in a bowl of rice for a few days. Rice absorbes moisture and it may do it well enough to get the unit working.

Put my samsung in the washing machine and when i put the battery in it just lights up nothing else

Immediately take the battery out! You can use a blow dryer to dry the phone out, don't melt it with too much heat, and then place it in a bright window for a couple of days. The phone may work once it is dried out, however it might never be the same. Do not put the battery back in until it dries out completely.
