Question about Saeco Vienna SuperAutomatica Coffee Maker/Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Hi, we have aa Saecco Cafe Grande an automatic Espresso Coffee machine. We purchased over 1 year ago from Future Shop. The machine only recentlly started to leak from the bottom, I did some investigation and found out the surface beneath the drip tray was wet The drip tray had a few drops of coffee water (where normally after two weeks of use the drip tray would be full.) It seems that something is diverting the water away from the drip tray! Could you advise me how I can fix this problem! Many THAnks Carson Lee emaial: cdolee@sympatico.ca

yes I have the leaking problem, my saeco vienna superautomatica is 8 years old and still works except for the leaking underneath and the drip tray has more water standing, and coffee gunk than should be. I have cleaned every possible orifice possible. I have descaled. It still leaks.

We have a sunbeam cafe series coffee machine that is 2 years old but suddenly under extracts on the pour and cannot reach the extraction pressure we are used to. We grind our own beans as well.

Generally, this is not a problem with the machine but with how you're loading the coffee! Sounds typical of one of these problems:-

Not enough coffee in the basket
Coffee should be filled and tamped to about 3mm below the rim.
Coffee grind not fine enough (too coarse)
Do you grind your own coffee or buy ready-ground? If buying ready-ground, make sure it is for espresso (fine) and not for filter or plunger.
If you have your own grinder, (like the Sunbeam Conical Grinder), then make sure the coffee hopper on top is securely connected to the grinder. I'd been using mine for years on the the finest grind (1) not realising the hopper wan't on right. Only discovered it when I took it apart to clean. Now my grinder is on 9-10 to grind for espresso.
Coffee not tampered down hard enough
You do need to provide a reasonable degree of pressure to tamp the coffee down just right.
Group head not turned tight enough
Push the group handle as far to the right as it will go, then ease it back just a fraction to have the right pressure.

RE: NEED MANUAL

Hi Visit this link and see if your machine is here. The possibility is that BAR 4 and BAR 14 could be one in the same machine:
