Thanks - well I plugged it back it -pushed eject and it said no disc. I tried another and it wouldn't take it...
Got brave and took off the cover - gently checked in - no disc - gently moved the CD enclosure part - managed to get the screws back in...not it is playing a CD - Hope for the best - Sad to think they might have charged me $150 to repair after me mailing it in cost.

Yes I think you can, get out your tools and take apart the unit, what do you have to loose you can always take it to a pro if you can't get it out. Be careful to unplug the unit. Don't force anything when you take it apart, be careful not to break any parts, put all pieces back together as you took them apart. Should be very straight forward if you are careful at what you do, get a bowl to put small parts in. Good Luck.....
Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in
Make sure you’re pointing the remote directly at your Wave®
music system. If the system is placed above table-top height, be sure
to angle the remote upward while pointing
Check for possible sources of interference with the remote’s
infrared (IR) signal, such as bright lights or solar glare off of a
window. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of the signal from the
remote to the Wave® music system display. The remote will not work
properly if there is something directly in front of the display
Wipe off the small clear lens on the front end of the remote
The remote is designed to work within 20' of the system. Greater distance may cause intermittent response
Unplug and plug back in. It should go through a automatic process, ejecting any discs that are inside. If all you hear is a mechanical noise, try this again only with the disc trays facing the ceiling.
