How to verify that the CMOS battery needs to replace

The CMOS battery is named after the Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor power. The CMOS has the current date and time functions for desktop and laptop computers. It allows the computer to automatically adjust the time, even on computers that are disconnected for long time. When a computer no longer has the date and time and forget it on every boot, the CMOS battery probably needs replacing. Some computers have messages when the battery is weak, while others just lose the current date and time after each shutdown.

Time & Date Errors

1. Turn on the computer. Look in the task bar at the bottom right. Make sure the date and time is set correctly. Double-click the time and click the up or down arrow to switch to the correct time. Click on the arrow next to month to change the month. Click "OK" when finished.

2. Turn off the computer. Wait 3 to 5 minutes and start the machine.

3. Look on the taskbar to see if time was lost and said a strange date January 1, 2000. Replace the CMOS battery, if this is the case.

CMOS Error Message

1. Look for error messages like "CMOS checksum error", "CMOS Read Error" or "CMOS battery failure" when you start your computer. These errors are caused in the machines shut down for several months or when the CMOS must be replaced.

2. Let the computer on for 24 hours. Restart the computer and find the error.

3. Change the CMOS as the return error.
HOW TO RUN TRIAL VERSION SOFTWARE ON PC FOREVER

Mere adjustment of PC's date and time at the control panel
does not do the magic as most sites would tell you.......

RunAsDate is a small utility that allows you to run a program in the date and time that you specify. This utility doesn't change the current system date and time of your computer, but it only injects the date/time that you specify into the desired application.

You can run multiple applications simultaneously, each application works with different date and time, while the real date/time of your system continues to run normally.

Using RunAsDate

RunAsDate doesn't require any installation process or additional DLL files. In order to start using it, simply copy the executable file (RunAsDate.exe) to any folder you like, and run it.

In the main window of RunAsDate, select the desired date and time and the application that you want to run. Optionally, you can also specify the command-line parameters to run the program. Press the "Run" button to start the application with the specified date/time

RunAsDate Limitations

RunAsDate only works on 32-bit Windows applications. You cannot use it for old DOS 16-bit programs or for 64-bit Windows applications.
RunAsDate will not affect applications that take the current date/time from another source. For example: application that loads the current date from remote serve

TO DOWNLOAD

visit http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/run_as_date.html

Set the date & time

I'm going to quote dsteele04 on this one (he is a user of this site).

1. Switch the GT*RATE SET button to RATE SET.
2. Press the date/clock button to display current time.
3. Enter time wanted using military time. 4:52 p.m would be entered as 16.52 (Note the 16 is followed by . then enter the 52. (ie. 10:45 a.m. would be entered as 10.45)
4. Press the date/clock button again to enter new time.

Just reset mine and is current. If the built in battery needs changed, access panel is on the back. It uses a watch type battery.
