Question about Olympus FE-220 Digital Camera

Flash issues My camera is brand new, I just bought it yesterday and it will only take pictures without flash. When I put the flash on, it will not take any pictures and it has a little red arrow, like the flash arrow, but its red and its flashing. Does this mean that the camera is no good.

It means that the battery is charging the flash! Wait a while and it should stop. Then take your photo.

Do make sure your battery is fully charged.

If the battery id fully charged we are talking a matter of seconds...say 5 to 10.

Did you charge the battery? If you placed it in the camera straight from the box it will not be fully charged; it will have only a test charge on it.

Flash won't retract

Page 27 of the user manual says:
Lower the flash by gently pushing it down. When not taking pictures, lower the flash.
The manual is online with Nikon USA. but here is the picture of that page. See bottom of the page.

Brand new camera, inserted the flash card, formatted per instructions. I take a picture but I can't play anything back. It does not record pictures on the flash card. If I remove the flash card and use...

Hello drlokeshyada,
Please be sure the card you are using is between 2GB to 8GB, class 4 speed or higher. If your card meets these specifications, then this may be a card compatibility issue. Please try a different card brand as sometimes a certain brand may not be compatible with a certain electronic device.

Is it OK to use a Pentax AF500FTZ flash on-camera with a Nikon D70s? Is the trigger voltage going to be a problem? It looks like one can use a Nikon flash on a Pentax DSLR without problems.

The brands use the flash contacts to communicate to the camera. They do not make their flashes compatible with other brands. Don't mix brands. Even if trigger voltageis not an issue, the TTL and AF is not going to function.

Brand new battery won't hold charge. Camera is three years old. I bought an extra battery when I bought the camera. They both seemed to go bad at the same time, so I recently bought two new lithium...

if this happens even to new batteries, it may no longer be an issue with the batteries, but it can be an issue with the camera itself. check the maximum number of shots that the camera can take with the batteries per its specification. if it should produce more, it would be a good ide ato check with Canon to have the camera checked.

Flash works, but no pictures!

Hi there, I know it was a while ago now but I just found your post, the lens on mine broke yesterday but being a student I'm looking for someone with a broken identical camera with spare parts to fix it rather than buying a new one. Did you fix the camera, if not and it is lying around unused I would be very grateful if you would part with it so I can get mine working again.

Please contact me at samutacaratti@gmail.com
Kind Regards

I have a brand new Finepix S8100fd camera and the majority of the photos are speckled no matter what setting I use. However the super macro setting rocks and pictures are super clear! My Fuji 7.1 mega

Common issue with the A8100fd. The most likely problem you are having is not enough light. Try shooting in bright sunlight to test the "graininess". Make sure you use the flash anytime the light is not bright. Even though the camera will shoot in low light (without flash), because it defaults to a high ISO setting, which (just like film) accentuates the "grain", or more properly termed in digital photography, "noise". Set the camera for a low ISO setting and use the flash whenever you see the "red hand" symbol on the screen.

Metz 58 AF with Nikon d90 wont flash

Hi, Bad news for you.

Try this.
  1. put new batteries in flash.
  2. turn flash on off camera.
  3. listen for capacitor to squeal (high pitched whistle). If you hear it it is charging. If not capacitor is bad.
  4. Also should see flash ready light come on. If it does not same as #3 above.
  5. If you pass #3 & 4# above press manual flash/check/test button on flash. No flash means bulb is out. It can be replaced.
Hope this fixed ya. Please rate. Good Luck! Comment back if you need further assistance.

Canon powershot SD600 - flash doesn't work

It could be the sensor or a short in the flash wiring. You should take it into a camera shop and have them look at it. You could be covered under warranty if the camera is less than a year old.
