Manual can be found here
http://www.apple.com/support/manuals/ipod/

Step 1- Connect your computer to the internet, if it’s not already, and download a copy of Itunes from the Apple website. If you already have Itunes, take the time to update it to the latest version. The newer ones are slightly faster.

if you have music cds then Step 2- Grab whatever CDs you want to and transfer them into Itunes.

Step 3- Connect the Ipod to the computer with your USB cable. All you need to do from there is make sure the computer and the Ipod are both switched on and recognise each other, then you can begin to drag and drop the songs from Itunes into your Ipod.

Heres also a video I found from youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUCim27rlSU&feature=related

as you can see, just select the music you want, drag and drop them into your ipod and they will being to transfer. Very soon after you can play the songs on your ipod.

How much this apple ipod 2GB(Silver)?

Compared to the latest iPod range it has 2 GB (same as iPod Shuffle). Although it has a display it has far less capacity than the iPod current nano. it is all larger and lacks a radio.
I would say it has a resell value of around $65/£45. maybe slightly more if it still looks new

Memory loss on ipod

The ipod nanos the smallest product in the Apple iPod line. The fourth generation Nano comes in two different capacities, each capable of holding thousands of songs.
    Capacities
  1. The fourth generation iPod Nano comes in 8 GB and 16 GB models. The 8 GB version can hold 2,000 songs, and the 16 GB version can hold 4,000 songs.
  2. Tips
  3. Song capacity estimates are based on music encoded in Apple's proprietary format at a standard, average bitrate. The higher the bitrate, the better the quality. Songs deviating from Apple's standard (for example, CD-quality music or high bitrate MP3s) will use more disk space.
  4. History
  5. Nano's predecessor, the iPod Mini, was released on January 6, 2004, and was available with a 4 GB hard drive. The Nano was first released on September 7, 2005, and was the first iPod to use flash memory. It was first available in 2 GB and 4 GB versions. The fourth generation Nano was released on September 9, 2008.
  6. Size
  7. The fourth generation iPod Nano is 3.6" tall and 1.5" wide.
  8. Video
  9. The third generation Nano, released on September 5, 2007, was the first Nano to feature video playback. Storing videos on Nano can dramatically reduce the amount of songs it can hold.

I am going crazy looking for a loadable version of the user manual for the Ipod Nano 3rd Generation. Would rather have hard copy, but a loadable version is better than none.

IPod nano and iPod shuffle

The iPod nano and iPod shuffle are both small--3.5 inches tall, 1.6 inches wide, and 0.27 inches thick for the iPod nano and 3.3 inches tall, 0.98 inches wide, and 0.33 inches thick for the iPod shuffle. The iPod nano and iPod shuffle both use solid state Flash Memory--2.0 GB or 4.0 GB for the iPod nano and 512 MB or 1.0 GB for the iPod shuffle. However, the similarities end with the dimensions and type of internal storage, as the iPod nano is designed as a tiny but "full featured" MP3 player, with more in common with the iPod "Color" models, with a few notable exceptions, and the iPod shuffle, on the other hand, was designed as a simple low cost MP3 player that lacks a display and can only play music and transport files.
