Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Pixma 6210D Inexplicably, when I tried to print yesterday (after using the printer for more than a year) I got the message that the printer had stopped. It would not start again, and in trying to find a solution I apparently deleted the program. I found it in the Trash, but it balks at being installed again. Please help. Mike Marty

It is likely that you have to reinstall driver software, if you have the printer software disks install it from disk. Here is the driver for windows XP: ip6210dxp190usz.exe.
If you have a different windows version you can download the driver from this link here, changing the OS.
Once you download the software do the following:

1 Disconnect printer from USB cable
2 remove printe from 'installed printer' , in windows control panel
    3 Run installed software.
4 connect back the printer when required or after software setup, eventually restart pc if required

If it does not work after the above, there may be some small piece of paper jammed inside or the printer may be faulty.

    Regards

Sorry, direct link to xp driver did not work, you need to restart from canon general link here and select windows XP in the OS box to get the software displayed.

I have a Canon Pixma 260 photo printer which I have not used for 2-3 years. Everything seems to be working EXCEPT when I try to print, nothing appears on the photo paper! I just bought a new ink cartridge...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

I am getting a message on screen saying that the waste ink collector is full. It is telling me to contact service. What can I do myself? Canon Pixma iP 6210D

Hello sir; You have to clean upthe ink collector by yourself, the procedure as follow; turn on the power open the top part ( same as when repace the cartridge) let cartridge carrrier move to the center then UN-PLUG the power, now you may move the carriage freely, move it to all the wayto the opposite direction from the ink collector, now you can clean the cell, after you clean up, turn the power switch off before you plug in the power cord.

My Canon Pixma MP500 is printing only black.

Hey, Sound like something is wrong with the color cartridge. Replace the color one and try again. If that fails you might have to replace the printer as it doesn't sound like the problem is software related.

Can't print from the 'print' button on screen, will copy and scan from printer, will run test from computer

try uninstalling the update as long as it is not one necessary to new programs. Find the uninstall for it by doind a search in the run menu, and the uninstall file should come up. Follow prompts. Now try printing again. If this fails, you may have to uninstall printer drivers ie go to remove programs, unilnstall printer and all related files. Now reinstall using your original printer canon disk for your operating system. Try printing again.
