Paper hpc6180 will not pick up paper out of paper light on. have tried all solutions but none work printer only 3 months old

->Click the Settings tab.
->Click on Paper Size. A list of paper sizes will appear.
->Select the size you want.
->If none of the selections are suitable, select Custom. A box will appear inviting you to set your own measurements. Enter the width and length that you want.
->Click OK.

This might not be a solution, but rather something to get your job done if nothing else (if it works):

Try using the "manual feed" tray instead of the paper tray. Depending on where the jam is occurring in the machine, it could bypass that spot and print fine.

Can you hear the machine trying to pick up the paper?
Normaly its a paper feed roller that gets dirty.
But if the machine does not attempt to pick up the paper, the problem may be a paper sensor

pick your operating system, download the appropriete driver to your desktop , install it, restart.. do a test page both in windows printer properties and in one of your document editting programs like word.
Post again here if that doesn't remedy things.

Try reset using this procedure from Fixya past solutions:

1. Power Unit off

2. Open front cover

3. Press and hold GO and turn power on

4. When all 3 lights lit release and press GO twice

5. All lights turn solid

6. With all solid, press GO 5 times

7. Ready light GOes red

8. Close door and you're all set

Paper jam.
Even after I check out all areas.
Open and close all trays and neatly stack paper so on and so forth.
sometimes, print two pages then paper jam for no reason. Very long and tedious process to remove error message.

clean the pick up roller with witch hazel and a cotton swap repaet a couple of times, may be very dirty

The Drum LED blinks if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one. please see my other post. as for not picking up give the feed roller a clean with metho and a rag, rubber roller under machine with cassete out it's about an inch wide and black.

If you pull out the paper tray you will see a rubber pick up roller. Clean that roller with a rag and some rubbing alcohol. It sounds as if the roller is slipping and not bringing the paper in fully. Good luck John
