Dishwasher won't fill with water

Hi

When the Dishwasher won't fill you'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the float switch assembly. When the water fills your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the float switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Hotpoint Super Plus 7821 dishwasher isn't drawing water, please help thank you

Hello

As water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. When the float reaches a predetermined level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Check your float assembly. Replace it if you need to.

Water Inlet Valve

Your dishwasher may not be filling with water simply because the water valve's filter screens are dirty and debris-filled. Gain access to your water inlet valve and try cleaning it out. This might be enough to solve the problem.

Your dishwasher's drain valve is regulated by a drain solenoid. If the solenoid is malfunctioning, it may not allow the drain valve to funtion properly, which in turn could be the reason your dishwasher is not filling with water. Investigate your drain valve and test the solenoid. If the solenoid is faulty, replace it.

My portable dishwasher won't fill? Please help!

Hi

When the Dishwasher is not filling in, you'll need to check for the water inlet valve, the filter screen and the float switch/assembly. Also check for the float assembly inside the dishwasher. When water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it.
If these are fine then it's due to Water Inlet Valve. Use a multimeter and check for the continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

My Hot Point Dishwasher is leaking water. It was

Hi

Check for any kind of leaks around lower spray arm or soap door. Replace the arm if any cracks are found. Also make sure that door latches firmly, and the gasket is not cut.
The leak can also happen due to a broken fill valve. To check, take off the access panel from the front of the dishwasher so you can reach the fill valve attached to the metal bracket. Use a multimeter to check the continuity across the two black terminals at the top of the fill valve. If it reads 120 V, replace the fill valve. Make sure the thin filter screen between the bracket and fill valve is not blocked by debris.

Wont fill, the light comes on and the timmer sounds to be working

D/w's have a fill valve that allows hot water into the tank, a safety float and switch that will cut the power to the fill valve if the water level inside the d/w gets to high. Check if to see if it is gunked up...clean it thoroughly

A DW not filling is often the fill valve. You can test the fill valve coil for continuity with a ohm meter, no needle movement = bad fill valve. You can also test the fill valve for 120 volts at the fill valve with a volt meter, power there and no fill = bad fill valve. No 120 volts there, you will have to trace power back to find the trouble maker. Test things like the float and float switch, wires and timer. Fill valves are very bad for working once or twice and then quitting, if your dishwasher fills the first and second fill cycles and then no more water through the rest of the cycle, replace the fill valve. You will need to remove the access panels to get at the fill valve. Dishwasher fill valves also have a screen built into the valve entrance, this can also get all clogged up and need to be cleaned.

I know you said it was replaced....the way you ohm them is to remove the power wires and ohm the valve if the needle pegs out or moves considerably the valve is good...

I hope this helps...good luck....the Fang.
