ever since for ever, ive always heard a loudish high pitched ring from analog tv's. e.g. i would know a tv was on in another room even if it was muted. ive told other people about it but they dont seem to hear what i hear. so im gonna geuss either
a. analog tv's all make that noise to a verying degree but most people just dont notice it or subconciously cancle it out as normal.
b. its a kind of hyper sensitivity to high pitched noise, in essence, tinitus.
on a final note, its not medical as i always pass my hearing tests. but to answer your question, either buy a digital tv or turn up the volume.
YOU may have a bad color wheel, it is very common. The wheel will before it fails produce a loud high pitched sound and or a grinding noise.
The wheel turns at 14,000 RPM and they frequently fail.
if the wheel is shattered the set should not allow the lamp to come on (you should be able to look behind the set and see if lamp comes on for even a few seconds)
See attached photo of color wheel used in some of these sets; if it is the problem the internet not only offers them for sale but there are video and written instructions for customer replacement of this part.
If this has told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.
My Loewe Aconda 81 HDR TV will not turn on. When I press the power button the green light comes on but the red light stays on with it and after a few seconds the green light goes out and the red light stays on. Any help please.
My Daughter has the same problem with hers. That high pitch noise your hearing is coming from
a transformer on the inside it means the transformer went bad and has to be replaced.I hope this helps a little.
yes ur right that is a flyback that is leaking! it produces a high pitch sound. well if u want to be sure that ur part is genuine. go to the manufacturing authorized service center. for sure they have available part. try also to look into the horizontal cuircuit. there might be something else that was damaged. probably the horizontal output transistor. gud luck
