It's wierd that even the JVC site has nothing for this valid model.

It's not rocket science. Go here and look at the rear panel picture...

A CD player has at least an analog RCA output. Plug that into "CD", which is not literal. It could work for anything expect a turntable. Just don't use anything but a turntable on PHONO.

Speakers = plus to plus, minus to minus, using any available lamp cord-like wire. One speaker to each terminal pair.

Use the built-in EQ and volume control with restraint. DON"T do the rookie thing of raising the bass all the way or cranking the volume to '11'. Distortion will KILL the speakers and possibly the amp.

Onkyo cd changer skips when volume is increased

Try to move the cd changer away from the speakers. Any strong vibrations transferred to the cd changer from the speakers may cause this kind of problems.

Jvc rx 318 receiver

The problem you describe is common to JVC amps. This control has a motor mounted on the back of the circuit card that drives the volume control up or down using the remote control for this system. The looseness of the volume control cannot be repaired. The shaft has separated from the potentiometer. I don't know if JVC has this part any longer but it has to be replaced as a unit (volume control card).
