Hi. I have the same problem. New ink cartridge, but my screen tells me each time I try to print that my ink is low, and it will not continue printing. Please can someone give a solution to this problem.

Refilled both, and computer keeps saying no ink. I have tried the steps to replace ink cartridge several times and no go. I soaked a paper towel to draw the ink down, which it did, so the ink wells are clear. Seems the Lexmark does not want us to save money by usinging refills.

To get your printer to recognize the new cartridge; go to start - printer and faxes -right click on printer - preferences (printing preferences) -settings -load factory settings. Print test page Ctrl+P

When you get a warning on the screen with a box telling you to
take notice off low ink, tick the pox that asks you to print part A page then click on continue, this seems to work. have to close annoying boxes on screen, but this is the best i can advise you all.

Re-set ink level for Lexmark X2550 cartridges.

Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled cartridges. These tend to degrade print quality and cartridge/printer performance.
Please note that once a cartridge is refilled, it can no longer register its ink level.

I have just placed my cartridges in the lexmark printer, turned the power on and then suddenly a thin plastic strip flew out, please how can i put this strip back and where. The printer is a X2550 lexmark

Did you remember to peel off the film strip that covers the area where ink exits the cartridge (toward the bottom)? If not, then that was probably what you saw.. I have done that before myself.. : )

Refill lexmark 37xl ink

I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and we do not refill the Lexmark 36 and 37. The reason is that your printer turns off the electronics on the cartridge when the ink gets low, so you can't reuse the cartridge. Your printer will only function with an electronically functioning cartridge. We NEVER recommend Lexmark printers. They are poorly made, don't accept refills a lot of the time, and across manufacturer their ink costs the most and is designed to clog the cartridge if you don't use it fast enough. We recommend HP printers that take integrated print head cartridges and Canon printers that take tank style cartridges.

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Refilled ink cartridges at Walgreens, printer won't recognize

Hello!
28 and 29 are not meant to be refilled. They can physically be refilled, but they won't work. That is because Lexmark has put in a smart chip that doesn't allow refill.
You need to buy 28A and 29A or 34 and 35, those cartridges can be refilled with no problem.

Refilling lexmark cartridges x2500

There are a couple ways to trick it into accepting the cartridge. You can put a different one in, take it out and then put the filled one in. Or you can find a refill kit with instructions on what contacts to cover with tape and you have to do it 2 or 3 times to get the printer to reset. Sometimes you can shut off the computer and printer for 20 min and start it up again. Or you can get the sledge hammer and smash the stupid printer before it sucks up your life savings and vow never to buy from a company that profits from causing problems that they tell you can only be solved by using more of their overpriced solutions.

How can i let my printer to detect and accept the ink?

I have the same problem. According to another site I visited you will not be able to solve your problem by refilling the 28 cartridge (black ink). You will need to purchase a 28A ink cartridge which is refillable.

Lexmark X2550 Cartridge Refilling

I just ordered a Lexmark X5495. The carts that come with it are throw aways (or return them to Lexmark to be remaned.) You can use cart. # 28a, 29a, 34 or 35 to refill, the latter two being the high yield carts. And yes the printer manufacturers are playing a cat and mouse game with us. I normally use Epson because it's easier to circumvent the tricks they employ. I understand Canon is an inexpensive printer to run also. HP and Lexmark are the costliest products to operate. There is a utility for Epson called SSC ver. 4.30 that gets around the safeguards by resetting the cart. chips and a whole lot more. Someone needs to write a utility for HP and Lexmark to replace the standard driver/ink monitors that are designed to siphon off our wallets quicker than they do ink. One more trick I've heard: when the printer is looking for a new cart have a spare cart handy and put it in in the printer. The printer will now think you have ink in the cart.(whether its empty or full) Now trying swapping it out for a refilled cart and see if that works. The point is this: the printer wants to see a new cart serial# ,not the same one that was just being used last.
