Question about Whirlpool RF380LXPS Electric Kitchen Range
I put the oven on autoclean, it works for a fee minutes, then I start getting error codes pf5, and other codes, the oven will not unlock, I have unplugges and the oven did unlock after hitting the off button
That mean that the key pad is shorted, needs replaced
E0-F2 Shorted keypad Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC)
E0-F2 Oven temp too high
1. Test operation of door lock on self-clean models
2. Test relay contact operation
3. High resistance in oven temperature sensor

F3 code correlates to oven temperature. Either the oven temperature sensor is malfunctioning or the over-limit switch is open. This is usually the result of using the self-clean mode and the over-limit switch gets stuck open. It has to be replaced...not too bad of a job if you have some mechanical/electrical knowledge. Ask parts supplier for a schematic so location can be visualized (inside top cavity on oven wall with a couple of wires. Also, Sears carries parts for these ovens. Hope this helps.

HI. These codes are an indication of oven temperature sensor failure. The sensor is damaged. This will not allow for proper operations. The affected part must be replaced, asap.
The sensor is, generally, located inside the oven, mounted on the back wall, on the top right, or left corner. It will look like a 4 inch long slender probe. There will be two screws holding the housing on the back of the oven wall. Once the screws are removed, the sensor will need to be extracted from the back side of the unit.

Testimonial: "Thank you so much. This is a job that my husband can do to fix it."
The motor that controls the door lock was bad. Go online and order a new motor based on range model number. User can fix if reasonably handy with tools.

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.
The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...
Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.
If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.
Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.
