My mouse works in reverse direction. I want cursor to go up when I move the mouse up the cursor goes down and vise versa. What is the problem. It was working before I had to disconnect everything to get new flooring in my office. I downloaded any updates microsoft had.

This is my seond Mirosoft Comfort Curve keyboard. In the first one, the letter "B" would not work. I switched back to my Dell Keyboard for about a month and when I tried the Microsoft Keyboard again, it worked...for about another month. Finally I gave up and bought a new keyboard. Now, within 2 weeks, the C letter isn't working. I'm accessing the letter through the On-Screen Keyboard. Microsoft should not be making keyboards with this issue--any solutions yet?

Try reinstalling the k/b and mouse software. Looks like the drivers are corrupt.

It could also be that the shift key is stuck. In this case I would recommend that you take it to a service center, as I wouldnt recommend you opening up the keyboard, unless you know exactly what you are doing.

This happens to me all the time, its the SHIFTLOCK feature some keyboards have. Took me almost a year to figure it out.

Hold the left shift key when it happens, and while still holding it hit the right shift key (You might have to do it a few times).

This will turn off shiftlock, and everything goes back to normal.

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 on Acer aspire 7520G. Everything works good, however some of the keys, like the numeric side keyboard does not work and I do not know how to make it work.

Try
Crtl+Shift+NumLock
Or
Go to :
1) System
2) Preferences
3) Keyboard
4) Click Mouse Keys tab
4) Uncheck: Allow to control pointer using the keyboard

The keyboard needs to be replaced or you can plug a full size desktop keyboard into the keyboard jack on your laptop. If you are looking a keyboard, search ebay for a "buy it Now" deal.

Mouse and keyboard not recognized on second computer

Solution for the mouse. I have 8 KVM's. Most of my computers work with the KVMs. On 1 inland KVM the logitect and Microsoft optical mice do not work on one computer (but work with the other computers). They both are USB. I hook them up with a USB to PS2 adapter. If I use a ps2 ball mouse connected to the KVM the mouse works. All the Mice work if I directly connect them. Since I do not want a ball mouse I got a Frisby optical PS2 mouse. It works with all the computers on the KVM's.

I do not have a solution for the Keyboard yet. 1 computer (ASUS MB) on my trendnet or belkin 4 postion KVM does not recognize the keyboard.

Keyboard LX501 : Function keys work but number and alphabetic keys and other keys dont

Hi,
Check the underside of the keyboard and see if there is a reset button (might be a small pin hole).

If not it might be a software problem.

Split keyboard & capslock shift function

I had a similar problem and noticed I hit the F Lock button. On mine it was a one way plunger stuck down. This caused the problems you mentioned on mine. Prying it up with a paper clip had my unit working immediately. Good luck!
