How to open divx movie from my phone ku990r viewty

Step 1: Download the files EFS MediaBuilder and Theme Manager 3.2
Step 2: Run EFS Media Builder, and navigate to "LGAPP/Media/swf/theme". BACKUP "theme_bg2.swf". If you really don't want to **** things up, just backup the whole **** "theme" folder.
Step 3: Choose where you want to install your theme manager

O2 icon on main screen lg ku990i

its a hard coded part of the phone dependant on your network, however, google "viewty theme manager" and "EFS Mediabuilder" and download them. The next bit is a bit long winded, but bare in mind that once this has been done, any theme you pick with the theme manager (even the default one that the viewty comes with) will remove the O2 icon.

Run EFS Media Builder, and navigate to "LGAPP/Media/swf/theme". BACKUP "theme_bg2.swf". If you really don't want to **** things up, just backup the whole damn "theme" folder. You don't have to back it up but its strongly recommended you do,
I'm a phone flash modder, so i take the risks and can tell you ive had no problems with it whatsoever, but make sure you read the installation readme's you get with the theme manager and efs builder. If you google "installing viewty theme manager" there are also a few video tutorials on how to install the theme manager correctly. Once its been installed though you never have to worry about it again.

from the KU990.co.uk forums - a tutorial on how to install it:

To install it if you have a memory card:

1) Install "theme_bg2.swf" into "LGAPP/Media/swf/theme" using EFS Media Builder then restart the phone once done.
2) Navigate to Settings, Phone settings, Connectivity, USB Connection mode and pick Mass Storage from the list then connect the phone to pc
3) Switch USB connection mode to Mass Storage then browse to the Memory Card/Removable Storage.
4) Drag and drop the "Themes" folder from the rar file directly to the root of the memory card.
6) Navigate to Settings, Screen, Handset theme and pick Silver from the list.
Installing to Phone Memory
1) Edit the "ThemeList.txt" file to make all custom themes point towards the phone memory (//LGAPP/Media/swf/theme/Themes)
2) Navigate to "LGAPP/Media/swf/theme" with EFS Media Builder.
3) Drag and drop "theme_bg2.swf" file and the "Themes" folder into this loction then restart the phone.
4) Navigate to Settings, Screen, Handset theme and pick Silver from the list
You need to edit the ThemeList.txt if you install to the Phone as it currently set to the memory card location. Change the '0' to '1' for all the themes in the ThemeList.txt file.

All you have to do once it's been installed is pick your silver theme and click your "c" button twice on the home screen to bring up the theme manager.

I know its long winded to get rid of the o2 icon but unfortunately its the only way without removing hard coded files from the viewty and potentially breaking it =/

Outlook calendar will not synch to handheld

Here are two resource pages which hopefully will help. The first is Palm support page with an update to download for users of Outlook 2003. The second is a discussion thread of Treo users troubleshooting the same problem. Even if the PDA is different, the issue (and error code) is practically the same, Rather than cut and paste what I think is relevant, read the thread and see if one of the solutions listed helps you.

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/pim_update.html

http://discussion.treocentral.com/archive/index.php/t-96051.html

Let us know how you make out.

PS - What PDA, operating systems (PC and PDA) and version of Outlook are you using?

Overwrite all calendar events

Selct Desktop overwrite Handheld. You can change the way the synchronisation takes place for all applications, either from the palm desktop application or from the status icon in the taskmanager bar. There are different options: - Synchronize - Handheld overwrite desktop - Desktop overwrite handheld - Do Nothing If the PC is up-to-date and you want to use these data you should select the "Desktop overwrite Handheld". This will clear the handheld calender and replace with the data from the pc/desktop

Retrieving Back-up contacts/phone book

Try Desktop overwrite HH. I've lost everything on my HH a couple of times and had to set the conduits to 'Desktop overwrites HH' in the hotsync manager - Custom settings for the next hot sync. If what you have on desktop isn't what you want, you should copy your saved folder info back over whats in your palm folders (i.e) where you copied it from.. Before you complete this step. Then your old data will be copied to your HH. Note - I assume you "copied" , not "archived" the data.

How to change the default handler from Outlook to Palm desktop?

Change sync methods from outlook to palm desktop !!!!! Hi, There are two ways to change the sync methods : 1. Insert the installiation disc into the cd rom device , u will get a window called dicover ur handheld , there please check for change ur sync methods , and u will get another window sayin ur currently using microsoft outlook to sync , would u like to change to palm desktop , say yes and then u will get congrats , click on finish . To make sure it is changed from outlook to palm desktop , right click on hotsync manager at the bottom right corner of the pc , make sure only local usb has a check mark and then left click on custom , in custom check and see if u see calender [outlook] or just calender , if u just see calender , then presuming all the data is in handheld , highlight calender click on change and change the action to handheld overwrites desktop then click on ok , do the same for contact , tasks and memo then click on done and perform a hotsync. 2. Insert the disc , open up my computer , then u will see ur cd rom drive , right click on it and left click on explore , u will find yellow folders , please check for a yellow folder called post install , open that up and inside that u will find outlook switcher , left double click on it and follow the same procedure as told in the first step . Regards

'Reset' each time after hotsynching

Do you still have administrative access to your laptop? IIRC there are some problems with using PD with a non-admin account.

I would recommend that you back up the "good" backup data on the Laptop. In PD, Choose Tools/Options, the "Data Directory" entry shows where the data is stored (in a subdirectory that looks like the first six characters of the Palm's User ID)
