There is a generic type of water filter that fits all Whirlpool and KitchenAid refrigerators with a water filter located in the base grill below the door.
What is the model number? KSSS48QTX? the User Manual says to=> After changing the water filter, press and hold RESET for
2 seconds until the status display changes to 99%. Thanks, John Tripp Appliance 911
If the number above your post is incorrect then I need to have the correct model number to help.
bad model number, look in the fridge section up in the top right corner or down in the kickplate to find the filter,if not there follow the water line from behind the fridge to the end of the line, some filters are installed in the water line, check and send model number this number doesn't show up.
I understand that you need to locate the water filter on your KitchenAid fridge. The water filter is located at the bottom of the fridge in the grill. There is a eject button that you will need to press next to the water filter in order to get it to release. 1. Press the eject button 2. pull the filter straight out 3. Remove the cap by turning it clockwise (you will need to install this on the new one) 4. Reinstall the cap on the new filter 5. Push the filter in until the eject button pops back out. 6. Purge the system run three full glass of water thru the water dispencer and throw away. 7. You are done
Are you saying water is dripping out the ice dispenser or the water dispenser, a water filter would have nothing to do with this, it only filters water, it does not pump water nor does it shut it off. If water is dripping from the ice dispenser, it is because the rubber gasket is bad on the flap that seals after ice is dispensed. If water is dripping from the water dispenser, it is the shut off for the water, you can put a glass under it and push for water a few times,on and off and see if this makes it stop, if not you would need to have this replaced. Any questions please post back.
