How can i retrieve photos off my camera when my computer wont pick it up

Hi, are you using a USB connection or a camera dock? You don't say if it is the internal memory or a card. I try never to use the internal memory if a card slot is available. If using USB try updating to the latest driver or see if there is a specific driver for your camera.
One more thing if using USB try to connect camera with a cable to the MOBO USB headers, and not the ones on the case. I have also found connecting the camera first then powering on or vice versa sometimes helps with my older cams. Hope this helps.-

What trype of usb cable is used tro download to a computer

That depends on the camera. Some cameras have a mini-USB connector, some have a micro-USB connector, and some a proprietary connector. Without knowing the make and model of the camera no one can answer this question for you.

However, if your camera uses a memory card of some type then you don't need a USB cable at all. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You don't need any special software.

No sorry, you cannot transfer the pictures from internal memory to the memory card. You can buy a USB cable online on that big auction site (they don't pay me, I don't write their name) for about $5 including shipping. Don't pay $35 at a retail store for one whatever you do!

I hope your camera has a bluetooth facility, so you can transfer it to other media. Otherwise check over sub menu on your camera whether it it can transfer from camera memory to camera card. Note some brand will unabling you to see your pictures on camera memory while you have memory card on camera. If you don't have above facilities, you have to bought usb (download) cable since you have no other choice

Require cable camera to laptop

Hi.
Instead of buying a special cable ,WHY DON'T YOU USE "A Memory CARD READER" THAT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR MEMORY CARD..
IT IS ABOUT 5.00-7.00 $..WITH THAT CARD READER-WRITER YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU NEED LIKE YOU ARE DOING WITH "USB FLASH MEMORY UNITS"..
THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS to PC ..
However if you still want to get a cable please visit the second ,URL below..

As an example of this unit pls visit the URL below....you can buy it any electronic Market too...

Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

USB connection problem?

The Best solution is to get an SD card reader. Then you take the SD memory card out of the camer, put the Sd card into the reader and plug directy into a USB port.  They are very cheap to buy and quite handy.

Using USB Plug, Transferred Photos to Computer and Deleted Them.. Says the pictures are still taking up room on memory card..

Try putting the card in the camera and in the menu, select 'FORMAT' this will totally wipe the memory card, ready for use. You will find plenty replacement cables on Ebay, for about £7.00-8.00
