My A1199 blue ipod nano looks like its in great shape and has not been harmed in any way. But, i think it died. It doesn't do anything when I plug it into my computer or iHome (iH8). I cannot get it to turn on and the screen won't even light up no matter what I do. Please help.

This happened to me to. I was listening to it when I arrived at my destination, and I thought I turned it off and I put it in my pocket. Later that day when I went to listen to it, it wouldn't turn on at all. Aparently, it had stayed on. Hold the pause button for five to ten seconds. The apple symbol will appear on your ipod. Immeadility put it in your docking station before it goes away. Your ipod will turn on, and itwill start charging.

I'm sorry if you meant something else. I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.

My ipod wont turn on or charge.

More than likely the battery just needs to be replaced. I let my nano go dead and it was doing the same thing. So just get it replaced and that should fix your problem.

Docking station

Hi!

I would suggest that you by-pass any docking stations and connect it directly via usb charger as most ipods do. And also, try to update Itunes and your Ipod Nano software.

Thanks and good luck! =)

Problem with ihome and ipod nano.

yes, unfortunately the ihome iH9 is not compatible with previous models of the ipod nano.

if you want a similar device, there are many other docking stations for the ipod that are ip0 that ARE compatible with the ipod nano 2G

iH85B is another ihome dock which is compatible with all ipods after the ipod mini (including the ipod nano 2G)

Ipod nano 8gb Mp3

Hi there,

It might be possible the you left your iPod playing overnight when you stopped using it. The batteries might be drained already and will need some time in the dock for it to be charged for the batteries to warm up and start charging again. Please ensure that the connections are not loose also.

Can't turn on and can't even charge!

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged first.
If not, try the 5 R's
The 5 R's for Apple iPods – www.apple.com/support

These are for Nano, but they apply to all iPods:

Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore

Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with your iPod Nano. If one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.

- Reset your iPod Nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.
- Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod Nano in iTunes.
- Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates installed.
- Reinstall iPod and iTunes software from the latest versions on the web.
- Restore your iPod Nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” on page whatever.

Ipod doesn't come on

Start with these five simple solutions: Reset, retry, restart, reinstall, or restore

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

If that doesnt help at all then its most likely a hardware side issue, if you still have warranty contact your dealer or appel for repairs or replacement.
