I'm trying to open my computer tower

I know you have to remove the side panel but I can't get to come off.  Is there an online manual anywhere that will tell me how to open it?

Usually only one of the side panels comes off easily. I'm sure you'll find the online manual from your maker's site, but usually you just have missed one last screw that's keeping it from sliding out. Usually there are 4, but I once had a panel with 5.

How to open tower

Generally there are two screw that hold a side panel in place, they will be on the back of the tower on the right side if you are facing the back of the computer. You will seem them screwed into the panel. One of the top and one on the bottom. Slide the panel backwards, and pull it off. Some computers are different, depending on the model and manufacturer. Some dell computers have a handle on the back or side that you open it with. Never open the left side of the computer (when facing the back of the computer).

How to resolve a "NO VIDEO" problem on your Desktop computer?

1. Turn the computer off...

2. Remove the Power cable and drain the power by holding down the power button for 10 seconds...

3. Remove the side panel of your CPU Tower (refer to manual how to remove side panel)...

4. Loosen the screw of your Graphics card and remove it then replace it back!

5. Connect all cables and put the cover back...

6. Turn your computer back on!

Note: This trick applies to desktop pc's with video card. If your graphics is integrated with your motherboard, try reseating the video cable instead.

Open emachines el1352g-41w

Open the eMachines EL1352G-41W computer case?

Unplug the computer from power. Unplug all cables. Turn the computer tower around so the back faces you.

Look at the Left side. This Side Panel removes.
There is a handle for your fingers, formed out of the Side Panel's sheet metal.

Above the handle along the edge, and towards the Top, there is a Philips head screw. Loosen this screw. (It isn't supposed to come all the way out)
Down below the handle, and towards the bottom, is another Philips head screw. Loosen this screw.

Use the handle in the Side Panel, to pull back on it. Pull towards the back of the computer tower.

The Side Panel may only pull back so far. There may be tabs which stick out of the Side Panel, and go into slots in the computer tower's case.

For this style the Side Panel will only pull back approximately 1 inch, or so.
Then the Side Panel is brought straight out away from the computer tower, and laid aside.

Do NOT forget to observe Anti-Static Precautions BEFORE reaching inside your computer, and working on it.

Computer on a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open.
TOUCH an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of the open computer case.
This action will relieve your body of Static.

Should you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to Touch the metal frame again upon your return.

How do I get the front cover off a Gateway tower? It is a GP7 800.

you need to provide a serial number of your computer and model. gp7800 does not say much to lookup that information for you.

in general most towers are secured with plastic tabs that are secured to the chasis of your system. what i suggest is for you to open on of the side panels and check at the back of the front panel if there are tabs securing your front panel. you don't want to force the plastic panel or those tabs as you may brake them if you apply to much force, simply move the tab to unsecure it and check all the tabs had been moved to an unlock position before jiggling with the part in order to remove it... you may also want to look if your system has a top pannel to be removed as removing this top pannel may also release other panels and may also provide acess to latches or tabs on the top part of the front panel that may allow you to unsecure these portion.

I've been trying to obtain general information on your system or any other gateway tower for you to have an idea but given how generic and also how propriatery this instructions may be is unlikely a service manual may be accessible.

with more info on your system you may want to inquire with gateway if there's a service manual with schematics by checking with them online. at this location.

I dont know how to open up the cas of my compaq to install the memory

What is the model of your computer?

Is it a tower?

If it is a tower, look on the back of your case. Along the right side there should be two screws. Remove both screws, grasp the side of the case where you removed the screws, and slide the side backwards. The panel should lift right off.
