i guess it's a problem with your Hard Disk . please try the following :
  • re-updating your system by an USB device (download the update from sony ps3 website)
  • reinstalling all game data files
  • restoring your system (don't forget to backup all your important files such as game saves !!)

What settings are you trying to download. Call of duty can update itself and should have done so when you first put the disc in. If you were connected to xbox live at the time.

My ps3 is messed up it keeps freezing all the time, somtimes it dont want to trun on or if it does turn on it gets lines and all kinds of stuff.

did you do a system update recently? Sony's latest firmware updates have busted a lot of people ps3's. Contact sony customer support ASAP, they should fix it for free if it is related to the firmware update. I know they released a "fix" to the bad firmware update, which actually made call of duty 4 freeze all the time. .... tisk tisk Sony

under "Routers", find your router type. Then find both "Call of Duty 4" and "Xbox Live 360". Follow those steps. Hopefully that should help; if not, make sure your router has the latest firmware updates downloaded.
