Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I have a Samsung HDTV and Samsung HT-X70 Home Theater system. I bought this home theater system because one of the features was a USB In port on the front with a Audio In next to it. It came with the cable to connect an iPod - iPod connection on one end which splits into two connections on the other end - audio plug and a USB plug. When I plug them both in I only get sound out of the Home Theater. The Home Theater reads USB Error and my TV screen reads USB INIT Failed. So, I have my iTouch pluged into the AUX 1 & USB connections in the front with the supplied cable and the video out on the back of the Home Theater to the Video in on my TV.
Should I be able to play my iTouch through the Samsung HT-X70 unit? Please advise at [email protected]

There are no codes you program into the remotes unless they are learning remotes. If you did the manual search for the code, then the universal remote will not work on that unit I'm afraid. You see you are not entering the code into the remote when you push the numbers the book tells you to. What you are doing is accessing the pre programed codes that are already programed into the remote. You cannot add any codes for universal remotes unless like I said before, they are called learning type remotes. Those cost loads of cash. Good Luck

For connections of audio, so that you can hear all tv audio through the
surround system, connect either an optical audio cable or red & white
analog audio cables from the tv to the home theater. If you are using
optical audio, there is a plug on back of tv labeled for digital audio
output and an input on the surround sound system. If you plan on using
analog red and white, use the PROG OUT red and white output jacks on the
back of the tv to the AUX input on the home theater.
For video connections, to get HD you will need to be using either HDMI or
Component cables. HDMI is the cable that will provided 1080p signal (the
best HD signal), but if the source does not output 1080p, then your tv
will not display 1080p. Most cable boxes output at 1080i or 720p when on
HD stations. This signal still provides great picture quality, but HDMI is
not needed to get these HD signals. You can use component cables for your
cable box and the DVD player output to the tv for video. HDMI might give
you a slightly better picture quality but the signal will be the same.
To make the connection, you will want to connect from the cable box to the
tv (component or hdmi). Also from the home theater system to the tv using
hdmi or the video cables from component (red, blue, & green cables).
We hope this information is helpful to you.

SOURCE: HOME THEATER SAMSUNG HT-Q100
Your systemn is designed and built to perform 2.1 sound. If you want 5.1 sound you can do 2 things, connect another pair of speakers to the same speakerterminal as your front speakers, however this produces 5.1 stereo sound and not 5.1 surround sound.
You can buy a new system that has the proper connections.
This set will not have the proper decoding software to produce 5.1 surroundsound. sorry.

SOURCE: Gurus, I just bought Samsung Home Theater System which i connected to my Hitachi TV with HDMI cable. I have a Optical Cable going from HT to my TV Optical port. I have another connection from my cable
On the remote control for the Samsung Home Theater System look at the bottom left to a button that says "MODE", those moods change the sound each speaker gives off. if that doesn't work, you might need new wiring because there are other wires that are more durable than the ones that come with it, much better too.
