My Whirlpool Ultimate Care 2 will only fill; draining step will not occur. The drain hose is not kinked or plugged. I found this out by lowering the hose to the ground; all the water escaed without a problem. Is this a timer issue? Is this an expensive fix? Can I do this myself?

This issue calls siphoning effect. It happens when the drain hose was somehow lower or not stand vertically. It causes no air pressure column in the drain hose to keep the water out. Check the drain hose and make sure it is high enough. Try to hold the drain hose straight up and see if it is happened before having further inspection.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer were is the drain filter

With Whirlpool top loader models the pump is located at the bottom of the appliance. The pump is accessed from underneath the appliance. Some model may have an access panel at the back. I think that with the Ultimate Care models the pump must be accessed from underneath. Here a repair video.
Here parts and diagrams.

Have a Ultimate Care 2 LSB6300PW top load that will not spin. It fills, drains & agitates.

It's probably the internal springs that connect to the basket. You need a repairman. Make sure that black mold hasn't set in while you are waiting for it to be repaired.

Whirlpool Ultimate care II will not spin or drain

The primary promlem is draining. Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or blocked .Water flowing out when the hose is lowered ( the hose needs to be lower than the water level, inside the machine as well) would show if it's blocked. Another cause is a jammed or failed pump. Good luck....Nomess

Use the video to see how to disassemble the washer to check for the source of the leak.
The leak is probably in the drain pump.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II spin cycle not functioning correctly

It sound like the basket is out of balance. When it spins open the lid and see if the basket is moving side to side and back to back. If so look under the deck and see if there is springs or rubber ties attached to the basket.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II keeps taking water.

ck your drain nose/drainline, chances are you have along hose, perhaps even draining along the floor behind hte unit, into a "closed" drain system. in which cawee the wwater is syphoning out during the rinse cycle, youlll needt o raise the drain hose to above 48" and have it drain into a stand pipe to prevent siphoning effect
