Where can i buy a new psu for an AL2032WA... - Acer AL2032WA (Black, Silver) Monitor

You can still use this power supply but you will need to purchase a 4 to 8 pin connector . you can find them on ebay etc. You can also use two power supplies, one for gfx card one for PC. I use two. To turn on a PSU without it connected to PC ( just to use it as extra power.) You just have to connect the green wire to any black wire with a wire or paper clip. (At your own risk. Set pins first tape off and turn on by plugging into wall) . Good luck.

If your PSU give wrong voltage it produce same problem with 2 solution:
1-test your PSU
put a wire between green and black and voltage must be:
yellow 12V, red/purple/gray 5V, orange 3.3V.
If your PSU give under voltage (more than -10%):Buy a new one and test your motherboard(mb) with it (in this case there aren't a lot of chance that your mb and/or your CPU are dead)
If your PSU give good voltage:(-10% / +5%):There are a lot of chance that is you mb or CPU
If your PSU give over voltage:Buy a new one and test your motherboard with it (in this case there are a lot of chance that your mb or/and your CPU are dead)

I'm not sure how you checked the PSU but it is often the case that the voltages measure correctly but the PSU still will not work in the computer. I had one recently.

I would buy a new PSU and replace it. If it still does not work, you can return the PSU. Unless you have a complex PSU tester, I would put my money on the PSU being defective.

Your video card requires its own power supply, you can buy an adaptor from ebay that changes a molar into the correct one to power it search for your graphics card on an auction site and add power adaptor cable this will save you the cost of buying a new PSU

Have you check your PSU(Power Spply Unit)?
If you could get an extra working PSU, try it first before you buy a new PSU!

Found out the PSU got problem, check the FUSE inside and replace it if is BLOWN UP!

You can do this with case modification as well as a new psu as Dell used proprietary mb's, psu's & cases on this model Dimension. To tell you the truth it would probably be cheaper and easier to pick up a core2duo or quad barebones kit than trying to modify the Deimension. Just my opinion. Remember Dell psu's are not wired the same as industry standard and their motherboartds in these older units are not top quality. Hope this helps you out.

99% TIME IT IS A FAULTY FAN GOING OUT.

REPLACING THE FAN INSIDE THE POWER SUPPLY WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

I dont think its worth repairing it, and tou dont nessasery need to buy an HP PSU, u can buy any PSU as long as the PSU have the same connectors

Try these:

Remove the PSU from the case.
Plug it to power.
Turn it on
Using a paper clip, short circuit the green wire pin with the the black wire pin on the 24 pins connector.
If the PSU fan start, remove the clip. The fan should keep spinning. That means that the PSU is working.

If the PSU is working, then the power up pins on the mother board might not be shortcircuited by the front panel switch.

Connect the PSU to the motherboard and to the power, turn it on. On the motherboard, locate the power up pins and short circuit them with the paper clip. If the computer powers up then there is a problem with the power on switch.

If the PSU does not start at all, return it.
If you can't return it, unplug from power, open it (warrenty voids!) and look for a fuse that looks like a one inch glass tube with metal caps. inside should be a wire. If the wire is broken, buy a new fuse in Radio Shack.

I have had several issues with this same problem, you may need a new power supply, because your old one may be failing and may need replacement.

My solution to this problem is that you may need to buy a need psu. I recommend either calling dell or buy a new psu.
