You will need to reformat the GoGear in Windows Media Player, but do a firmware upgrade first - open the Philips Device Manager and click on the Update tab. Then click the update button. After the firmware upgrade is done, open windows Media Player.
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your GoGear to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Philips Go Gear SAXXX" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and make your player properly read in Windows Media Player.

Restore your iPod to factory settings through iTunes. Make sure you have iTunes is the latest version.

Restoring iPod to factory settings

Note: restoring erases all the songs and files on iPod so back up any files.

Dissapeared songs

My guess is that the crash caused damage to the file system. This corruption may or may not erase the songs, but the only way to recover from such a crash would be to reformat your mp3 player which will result in erasure of all the songs in it. Formatting it will reset it to factory defaults and you should be able to reload your mp3 player and rock on!  Good Luck!

Will not sync - lost all music

Run a repair in the Philips Device Manager - it will erase all the songs off the player as a side effect. Then try reloading the songs - if the songs came from a particular music service, make sure your subscription is up to date before reloading the songs.

Help!!!!!

Insignia mp3 players are a little buggy in that they occasionally get file system problems that cause strange things like this to happen. First backup your songs from the mp3 player, and select "erase internal memory". That actually reformats the memory. Then put your songs back on the mp3 player. If it still doesn't work, please advise.

What kind of error message are you getting? Have you tried restoring the factory settings from iTunes? (that will erase the contents of the iPod though)
