I made a mistake while formatting a memory card. i formatted the memory card as a whole

Remove it from camera, install it in a USB Memory Card Reader. If your computer recognizes it, format it.
If won't accept format, try installing a low level format tool, like HDD LLF Low Level Format Tool

Be carful and DON'T format by mistake hour Hard Drive
If still can't format it, it went bad, buy a new one

u must have to mention the error it is giving
1: if the info which is on the the memory card might b used by ur system at that time.
2: the format of ur memory card would b changed by some mistake. make the format in NTFS if it was FAT format

If you formatted the memory card, you will not be able to download your pictures to the computer. Once you format your card, all pictures are deleted. I am sorry for your loss.

Without knowing the camera make and model I can only suggest you check your owners manual on how to format your memory card, your manual may also call it initialize.
I'm also going to include a diagram that shows the SD sliding lock, if this lock is in the lock position a whole sea of problems can "pop" up. the lock function is there top protect pictures or files on the card from being deleted by mistake. However sometimes these annoying little trouble makers get pulled down into the lock position.
Here is the diagram. Remember check the lock and then format/initialize your memory card also after each time you download your images from the camera or the optional card reader you must format the memory card to have the camera properly function with the memory card.

your samsung Gravity 2 wont read the HC format, there is not much you can do sorry. the SD HC is a newer format for devices in the last year or so. Older devices will not accept the HC format cards. I did the same thing! And im in the business, easy mistake. Keep it around though you'll use it soon, just not in your Samsung. Gurvy
