There is a button on the remote labeled FORMAT it is on the bottom half of the remote. it will change picture size i.e. STRECH STANDARD WIDE WIDE ZOOM etc.

thye resolution depends on the signal source. or the input you are on. the ANT inputs will give 1080i if you program digital channels and any COMPONENT or the HDMI input will accept 1080i

I need to change the tv to HDMI

A puzzling question Seth

To change a television to HDMI, you just scroll through the Input choices using the remote until you get to the HDMI socket the 'signal' is connected to.

The TV is Sanyo? Why do you need a Phillips remote? Why do you have to format the television?

Direct TV is your television signal supplier which doesn't have a lot to do with anything :>) The box has an HDMI socket? You connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI socket on the television and I refer you to my first paragraph.

The heads are cut off....I only have my dish remote, Is there a way to fix the format from that tv or a button on the tv itself it is a 52" or 60"

How did this start? you need the remote to change the settings in the first place, somebody used it to change the settings! Have you tried using the dish remote, did you change the format on dish? there is a place on the remote that changes the format from the sat signal also, should be a yellow bar below the live TV button. This is the way mine is set up but on other remotes there is still a button to change the format, look on the dish remote for this.

The inlaws pushed about every freaken button on the remote, now the picture on our tv is way too big ,and the heads and logs etc are no longer there help !!! please

This formatting issue can commonly be corrected by simply pressing the (*) button on your remote this button is also known as the format button and is located in the bottom left corner of the remote, which is also to the left of the zero button. You can change the formatting of the tv picture by pressing the star/format button until the format is corrected. I hope this helps!

We would be happy to help get that fixed. It sounds like you may be in the incorrect screen format. Press the * located below the number 7 on the DISH Network remote control. Cycle the formats to determine the screen format that fits best.

We hope that this fixes it for you. Thanks so much for choosing DISH Network!

How do i adjust picture format without a remote

If your projection TV has some hard buttons on it, then you should be able to get into the menus using the hard buttons, and that MAY allow you to change the picture format, but in all honesty it sounds like you'll want to find a remote for that TV in order to quickly change the format.
