Question about Samsung HLR5667W 56" Rear Projection HDTV

Blown picture and BUZZING?!?

Watching TV, then a very loud noise.  It sounded like glass falling or a bulb breaking.  Obviously might be my lamp right.  But . . . what makes this really complicated (because I can't find anything on the net about it) there was an regularly repeating buzzing noise.  It was almost like a fire alarm.  It repeated every five to 10 seconds or so.
I think I have a blown lamp, but why is it buzzing?  Any suggestions on what else this problem may be?
Thank you very much for the help.

Could have been the ballast shorting out which could have destroyed the lamp.

Loud sound would be coming from defective color wheel that is mounted i light engine, next to lamp housing. Replacement of color wheel is required expertise/ experience and professional will do that for you in correct and in safe manner.
Contact local tv repair shop to get color wheel replaced in tv.
Thanks.

Bulb has gone out and now makes a loud noise

The noise depending on where it came from may be normal. You wont be sure unless a TV repairman checks the boards to know for sure, or you could replace the bulb and hope for the best.

My samsung 42 inch hdtv is making a buzzing noise

First. The whirring or buzzing sound you hear is the Color Wheel and it needs to be replaced. Second, since I do not know when and if the original lamp has been replaced it is a good idea to replaced the lamp. The bad Color Wheel is the one causing the set to shut down.

Problem with Toshiba DLP Projection TV Model #52HM84

It is possible the lamps may be defective or that they may be the wrong replacement for this model, as it may have a different wattage setup with the ballast. If you want to try to order the TB25 lamp from a different vendor, you can order the original Toshiba replacement lamp for this model (52HM84) from a major Toshiba parts distributor at the link below:

TV makes humming noise, lamp light is blinking, does not turn on

Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.

HEARD LOUD POP NOISE DLP TV DOES NOT WORK

Following up on my Feb 7 post. My new lamp arrived, and I replaced it and it works great. The old lamp had many shards of glass come out of it. It was tore up. I saved some money buy purchasing just the lamp and not the cartridge. It's a little bit more work to take apart, but saves money. Mitsubishi wanted $289 for the lamp replacement kit. I got a lamp for $114. TV is working just fine now!

Loud whinning noise then no picture or sound

Color wheel is the noise you are hearing. It can also keep the lamp from firing up if it has seized up. Remove the lamp and inspect it. Replace the color wheel for sure.

No picture, hear sound, television will shut off after a few seconds.

Lamp life is only a few thousand hours. Hopefully its only the lamp that made to noise. Don't turn on again until lamp is replaced.
