Make sure the ram is in the #1 slot on the motherboard, if not sure, keep trying till the computer can see the ram and starts up for you.

I need to add memory module to my Dell desktop computer. I bought a 256MB Memory Module from Dell but it did not come with any instructions.

ok. which model ram you purchased. For installation of ram there is no instructions. Open cpu and put the ram in empty ram slot. Put in right direction because if you try to put in wrong direction it wont set because that small cutting in ram is help to set proper way. try it otherwise call any technician for help.

I have an Acer AO532h-2527 and would like to add add. RAM with a memory stick. Irrespective of warranty issues, how might I go about this?

Have you tried www.crucial.com? This a good source for quality ram and they will check your system based on the make/model. They have an automatic scan tool which will help to identify your system. Most laptops have bottom access cover to remove for memory, others are hidden under the keyboard. Your system manual should provide this instruction, as this is a consumer serviceable upgrade and would not usually affect warranty.

I need to know if I put it back together right

If you pulled it apart and put it back together but now it won't work properly, try checking your IDE cables to the hard drive/cd-rom, make sure they aren't connected backwards. Otherwise just carefully look over the entire board, be sure that the processor, heat sink and fan assembly are all intact and connected properly, do the same with the RAM, power connection, any expansion cards.

Display is tiled

I expect this is a feature accidentally enabled by a Control-Alt- unknown key (possibly the 8)
Some graphics cards have features allowing Control Alt Arrow to tilt the display left, right, upside down or up the right way.
If that doesn't work, see if you can remove the display device and reboot - it should reinstall the device and find the driver automatically, with default settings.
Is there anything in the manual about tiled display?

Hp motherboard startup problem!!

hmmm my sussgestion in yourr case is that, don't attach all things at once. do the following step bye step.

Step 1). Attach SMPS (power supply to the board), Front Panel Connectio, and an in built speaker and CPU (don't add RAM, HDD, FDD, VGA Card or any thing els)

Power on and watch/Listen carefully:

Case 1: if you can hear a long beep, then your CPU and board is OK

Case 2: No beep means CPU or board is faulty. Try to Reconnect CPU again and do step 1.

Step 2) Now power off and add RAM only.

Power on and watch/Listen carefully.

Case 1: if you can hear the ok beep it means till now your RAM is Ok
otherwise clean your RAM connection and add it again.

Further you can add your VGA, HDD CD-ROM/DVD, PCI Devices etc. and easily short-out your problem.
For your help here is picture of general moherboard with connection details. 86c6af2.jpg
Thanks
Iqbal

Try an external monitor. If that works then there is a problem with the screen cable, which is replaceable.
