-   My daughter's camera also has a cracked LCD screen. It happened while it was inside the van on a cold winter day (for one hour!) It 's one week over the warranty. What's the deal?! Are these cameras' LCD panels LEMONS? She loves the camera, but if this problem is common, I don't want to give SONY another penny! Any advice?

-   I found replacement LCD screens for this camera at ebid.net. It says that they can be replaced without soldering, so I'm going to order one and put it in myself. It's got to be cheaper than taking it to a camera shop. Cost is about $58. Same thing available on Amazon.com for $69. When I get mine and put it in, I'll let everyone know how hard it is. I think it's just a few micro screws out, unplug the screen ribbon cable from the circuit board and plug in the new one. Reassemble and you're good to go! Voids warranty I'm sure, but if you're out of warranty, you got nuthin' to loose. -   easthigh76
