I have a 30" Phillips

I have a 30 inch Phillips flat screen tv. I notice that there is a buzz in the sound. The intensity varies and frequency of occurence varies. As the scenes shift, and goes to commercial and back, the buzz gets louder and softer. How can I get rid of the buzz?

First- Do you have a cable box ( with a volume menu in it)?
If you do make sure the volume on the box is at least 3/4 full, no lower. Then re adjust the volume on the tv to a normal level and let me know

Wall plug for TV buzzes

Have the outlet checked by a qualified electrician. Sounds like either a power issue or ground. You should not get a buzz from an outlet for any reason.
If you plug something else into the outlet does it make the same noise?
If yes, something going on with the power. If not, then the TV power supply might be doing it, but the noise would be behind the TV and not the outlet.

Lg lcd tv humming sound which varies throughout a programme no rhymn or reason to it but especially noticeable when quiet part of programme

Alot of Tv's have this sound that comes from the speakers or the back of the set. Its normally when the transformers inside are underload they start buzzing. this could come from the Powersupply or the Inverter. When changing channels they change their tone sometimes.

Buzz sound when tv is on constant

Hello; If you have a plasma TV, is fairly common to hear buzz noises. They can be always there or intermittent. They can get louder as the screen gets brightest. If the buzz is noticeable when you are at normal volume setting, the buzz is excessive and a PCB probably needs replacing. These buzz noises are almost never a sign of failure or safety. LCD TV's can also buzz, but the same applies. John

I just got this tv to replace our 26 inch Phillips tv. Wow! It is incredible in every way, we love it! But there is a slight buzz, which I can live with, but would rather not have to? Any ideas?

If you have replaced your old Philips with a Plasma TV, they do buzz slightly due to the extreme current passing through the capacitance of the screen. You may find that a curtain behind it if you have it in the corner of your room, will help.
If the buzz stays the same level regardless of audio settings then it is normal. If the buzz varies in amplitude with the volume control, then there may be a fault on a lead feeding the signals to the TV.
Hope this helps and have a nice Xmas.

My television has an annoying hum/buz when annimated movies are playing. The intensity of the hum/buzz varies as the brightness of the tv image changes. What is the problem?

This is waht is known as vision on sound.
Sharp bright edges on the picture such as seen on cartoons, generates high frequency interference which is picked by the sound channel. That is why you get louder infererence when the picture is brighter. There are filters built in to the sound circuits to reduce this. Intensity of the problem depends on the quality of the design.
You could try reducing the contrast level some time called "picture" or if you have a sharpness control reduce sharpness.
