PEREGO GAUCHO 4.0 WON'T GO FORWARD

The jeep goes in reverse but not forward. This is what I've done so far.

1. Replaced the forward hi/lo switch with new one from Perego website.

2. Made sure it wasn't the gear by reversing the polerity of wire on motors when I did this the jeep went forward. It must be something wrong with the control unit. What is the possibility that the new switch is defective? There is a fuse also there but I would think it is ok since the jeep still goes.

3. Has there been problems with the control unit that the switches plug into.

Can I some how test the switches?

Believe it or not but it is the reverse switch not the forwards one that is your problem.

We have a peg perego Gaucho Jeep, but we can not seem to get any power. We have tried three different batteries. Any ideas

I would check the pedle and shift switches for continuity. They seem to cause problems if the jeep sits unused for a while. Replacement parts can be found at peg-peregoparts.com. Hope this helps you.

Hi we have a peg perego 24 volt Gaucho 2 seater jeep. We know that it needs a new circuit board but have no idea where to get one. Please could you suggest somewhere? Kind regards Elaine

You can order the part on the link below. This board is for the Gaucho Superpower jeep if that is not what you have then go to the second link to find your jeep.

Jeep would only reverse, changed high/low switch - worked for a second now nothing works at all

Check the throttle switch ( under the foot pedal). It probably needs replacing. I had the same problem with my sons 4-wheeler.

Gaucho grande jeep put a new battery and still dont run. help

Some of the older Gaucho vehicles have an working ignition switch. Make sure the key is turned to the right to where the key is horizontal. This can be an easy oversight. If this has already been checked, try checking fuses. It is alway better to make sure the simple things are checked before you start spending money on parts. I would not replace switches unless the vehicle moves in one direction but not another. It is very unlikely that both swtiches went bad causing immobilization.

Transmission problem Gaucho Jeep

It may have a loose connection on the motors or switches. I would start by checking the connections. If they are secure I would replace the high/low swich and reverse switch. The Peg Perego switches are easy to replace and should do the trick.
I still think it may be a loose conection, so I would check it for sure

PEG PEREGO JOHN DEERE GATOR

Problem #1:If you have taken the high speed safety device off the stick shift(small red plastic block screwed on below the yellow stick shift housing) then your high/low speed switch has gone out. There are two motors(one on each back wheel) that both have to come on when in high speed. Only one comes on for low speed. It is the switch under shifter that is not spring loaded. hi/lo switch #MEPU0002 available at www.tigerimports.net for $11.00 plus $2.00shipping That is where I got mine.
Problem #2: Sounds like you need hi/lo switch and possibly forward/reverse switch too. Before buying forward/reverse switch try putting a little grease on the white plastic assembly that engages the forward/reverse switch between the top piece and the piece that pushes down on top of the switch. Sometimes they just stick enough to stop switch from depressing. It is the switch under shifter that is spring loaded.Forward/reverse switch #MEPU0003 $11.00 plus $2.00 shipping @tigerimports.net
