Question about Combi Centre DX - Mango

1 Answer

I have an Ariston Microgenus 27 Combi Boiler

Just recently this boiler has decided not to heat my radiators but still gives me plenty of hot water, the heating pipe coming from the pump is hot for about a foot and the pipe going back into the boiler is cold, can anyone advise me wether or not I should buy a new pump ( I have managed to price one up at about 72 Pounds inc VAT ) or would a better option be to buy a new boiler as I might just end up replacing worn out parts for the next couple of months. Thanks for any help

I hate these boilers!

If the pump is not circulating change it. If the pump is ok you may have a blockage in the diverter valve

Ariston Microgenus 27 boiler - leaking motorised valve

The leak is coming from a seal around the pin that the motor acts upon, the seal does not come as a replaceable part on its own, so the whole flow group as it is called will need to be replaced, approximate price 170 to 200 pounds inc vat, makers part no 998613. plus 2 or 3 hours labour of a corgi registered engineer. If your boiler is more than 6 years old and you have not had to replace the fan or other parts yet, then think about getting a new high efficiency boiler, it could be a better long term solution.

Ariston Microgenus 27mffi combi boiler

im an engineer and recently had exactly the same thing with this ariston boiler, i found out it was the the 'air pressure switch', this is a switch which is part of the ignition, it works in conjuction with the fan. when the boiler fires up the air pressure switch makes, if its faulty it can break the circuit mid flow and cause the burner to shut down therefore giving intermittent hot water and heating, theres a possibility that the aps tubes may be damaged as well so ensure they'e condition is good. hope this helps you

Ariston combi boiler

sounds like your diverter valve is passing on the boiler, this diverts the heat either to the rads or to the taps, if its passing through the heating chanel it'll heat up the rads- may also be a scaled up secondary heat exchanger, hope this helps you

Ariston microgenus 27 pressure on 0

Filling loop is underneath the boiler, easily identified as a chrome coloured braided pipe with a black tap at either end. Open right hand tap first then left hand one . Fill system till presure gauge reads just over 1 bar when system is cold. Then turn both taps off.

Pressure of Ariston Microporus 27 MFFI

the boiler reqs to be pressurised to 1 bar in a cold state, in operation the heat expansion with cause the gauge to rise by about half a bar so in full working mode with heating on you'll expext the gauge to register around 1 1/2 bar-
