This could be to several reasons:

a camshaft could be broken

purge station in disorder

ph not in correct position

Here are some clues:

pull papertray out and turn the paperfeeder by hand several times.

Open printer:

open printer and check encoder strip (foil runing parallel to ph traveling direction). Is it in right position going thru the ph carrier?

Turn one of the big lefthandside gearwheels several times by hand

Brother mfc-7420 - unable to print

OK Try
Solution:

Machine off
Switch on the machine while holding down the “menu”button until all the leds are flashing on/off. Now you are in “maintenance” mode.
Press 80
Press the “mono start” button several times until you see “purge: xxxx”
Press “2783” in order to reset the purge counter. You will see: “purge:0000”
Press the "stop" button.
Press “99” to exit the maintenance mode.

Unable to print See Troubleshooting and routine maintenance chapt

Open the top cover and hold the interlock switch on the top right hand corner. Power up and wait for the carriage to come to the center. Shine a flashlight all the way to the right and left and pull out the crumpled paper. You should be able to print again..

Problem with my printer Brother MFC-240C "Print unable 4F"

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, try this step by step.without missing any thing. thanks
