After the power on the screen shows bad convergence problem ,it will stay bad for a little while then back to normal pix,but it will go bad again ,on and off ( intermittently ),and then stay good pix.

Finally my Sony KP-51HW40 got fixed, according your instruction,it just replaced two of'm ( STK 392-560 ) then convergence problem has been solved ,and I don't need to do any adjustment.

Just a thought, but check all of the pico fuses for a blown fuse. The pico fuses look like a small yellow resistor. Some Hitachi's are famous for having a blown hi-volt ceramic capacitor and a blown pico fuse.
I think the red led on is a short protect indicator, but I could be mistaken.
Might be the convergence chips. Do you have any problem moving the convergence under the menu setting? Convergence chips are reasonably priced. If you know a friend or someone who can solder better than average, I would go this route. My tv wasn't that bad; I wasn't able to set 2 of the 3 colors during convergence setup. Changing the 2 convergence chips did the trick!
Possiblility include bad convergence cuircit. A component that is overheating and bad solder connections.. Technicians can use special equipment to read error codes... this will tell them the error that is shutting it down
Unplug the three red-blue-green plugs nest to the convergence amps. If the unit powers up and stays on the picture will look bad but will confirm that the convergence amps have failed...
Replacing the amps and one or more resistors in the yoke return will restore the set to normal operation..
